Made a mistake in selling out

All of it is subjective.

This is still a subjective matter. One, I don’t agree with due to my own preferred style of play.

I enjoy the end game of Classic. I like the freedom of choice I have in deciding where and what I want to do. That, and I like that it actually has a end (not that I feel like people have reached it because everybody, and I do mean all, has their own interpretation in what that means, but how I view it, nobody really has “beaten the game”). I’m just unclear in what you mean by the end game.

I have my own personal issues with Retail, but I have more problems with Retail, than I do Classic which is why Classic is more fun, for me, than Retail.

This, I do agree with. My personal gripes with game has nothing to do with the corporation. Their job is to make games. I don’t like their new products but content with their generosity in allowing their customers to play the old version of the game.

Seem like a general trend in the industry, like every beloved franchise got reworked into the ground. What’s the saddest thing is the AIs are just as bad if not worse than in the past.

We cannot deny that there were also changes in WoW for the better with the passage of time, but mostly things since WoWTLK got out of hand and went in a not very good course, in fact in WoWTLK there were problems regarding the brand new character, Death Knight which was absurdly unbalanced.

About the difficulty of the classic, the meetings with players on maps, pvps and others the game is very good, the maps are gigantic and so are well used because the players need to go through all of them, the issue of mounts in lvl 40 and 60 also I think it’s assertive, it’s a bit complicated to walk everything, but it’s always been part of the leveling process of this game. This has been “facilitated” by Activision over the years due to player complaints.

Regarding the dungeon finders, I think the best would be a combination of the two, I don’t think it’s cool for you to be teleported without having to walk to the instance because the same thing you said in the previous paragraph occurs, it prevents players from moving around the maps and that’s bad, but the system of finding a group is far more efficient than the Looking for Group channel … especially today where most low level players no longer make instances but buy lvl 60 - 1 pull RUSH!

That way, I’m putting my first 60 char (priest), I don’t think it’s nearly a group for instance even if I’m going to be the Healer. So a Group Finder without teleportation would be very good to find a group without having to do SPAM in the chat and not even eyeing the offers.

So we have small changes in RETAIL that are generally good, but most led to a single key game, like a holy priest in BG using only Holy Nova and not losing mana. It is necessary to recognize that a classic version of WoW could receive updates regarding the RETAIL version and remain good, but it should keep the essence. No characters with 1 million stamina! No free teleport, no direct teleport to the instance, no mount at level 20 … These things!

If I think it would have been different if Blizzard hadn’t been bought by Activision, YES. But that doesn’t change anything now, it changes if they really listen to the community that wants a classic WoW experience and pay attention to those people who just don’t play the RETAIL version anymore, no matter what changes in it, which is my case.

The problem is the us vs them. You have to listen to everyone, because everyone’s opinion holds the same weight. We’re all just people playing this game.

The “classic experience” was dead as soon as people kept playing pservers and had this entire game memorized inside out, and when people learned how to exploit bugs for their advantage (like resetting the cooldown on turning in the heads). But while things needed to stay the same to have the same feel of classic, some changes needed to be made a year ago for the longevity of classic. It’s getting pretty accepted that if you want to focus on dungeons to level, it’s too late on most servers, and seriously nobody sees a problem with this? The people who still play retail matter too, because that’s your most direct input on what is or isn’t working.

Before classic was released there was a lot of good input, but it got shot down immediately and buried by this community that would actually report posts they didn’t agree with just to get them hidden. Instead of having classic be a game we could all enjoy, It just became another pserver “fresh start” server that’s already starting to die. Give it another year, and most of the people here will start leaving for whatever next server pops up somewhere.

The state of triple A gaming is both the fault of the companies and the gamers themselves. The companies need to make money and they have to pursue the avenues that make them money. The gamers are to blame for enabling some of the less savory avenued to happen.

100% accurate, there’s blame to go around to both sides. This definitely makes me appreciate a company like Nintendo a bit more. Sure they are behind the times when comes to online stuff but they definitely don’t follow the trend like everyone else does.

I’ll agree with Nintendo, however them not keeping up with the times or trying to be innovative is going to be their downfall. For the most part they’ve left adult gamers behind and are chasing the younger demographic. That being said, the younger demographic could care less about mario and only want to play the dumb games like Roblox, Minecraft, and Fortnite.

Edit: Just for clarity, I bought the switch for myself so I could play Breath of the Wild. After beating it, I haven’t touched it since. I have 4 children (All 12 and under) for which I’ve bought Animal Crossing, Mario Odyssey, Lets GO! Pikachu, and Mario party. They won’t touch it. My switch has been a dust collector for months.

I got a lot of use out of my Switch. Maybe I’m just a Nintendo sucker but there are so many fun games to play on that thing, also made my train commute to work (back when that was thing) much more enjoyable.

Oh yeah for sure. I get it has its uses like traveling or down time when you aren’t at home.

Perhaps you should consider purchasing some of the large number of good games available on the Switch, then, instead of buying only games that don’t interest you and then complaining that you don’t like them.

Right now I’m enjoying the Collection of Mana quite a lot. Played Valkyria Chronicles 4 recently, and planning to move on to either Fire Emblem: 3 Houses or Mario Odyssey next. Tons of strong indie stuff on there too.

80% of the switch titles are available elsewhere, and play better. Any of the amazing indie games I’ve wanted to play are on my PS4. Mario Odyssey was easymode. No interest in highschool dating sim JRPG’s. I bought trials of mana and quit halfway through because the game is just god awful.

I sort of expected this. You just don’t like good games.

That’s ok. There’s plenty of terrible AAA games for you to play on PC/PS4. Just don’t try to pretend like your preferences are “adult” in some way or that people who actually like games that are fun are inferior.

It’s reflective of the gaming industry as a whole. A few decades ago people tried to break the rules and make new things, but now that a formula has been found everyone just wants to make Same Thing Different Flavoring 200.

No, i ONLY like good games, obviously. Zelda is great, smash is amazing as always. Odyssey has been dumbed down for the younger audience. All pokemon games are way past their prime. Kirby/Yoshi has been turned into basically yarn and playdoh intended for little kids. They’ve ruined paper mario, and the proof is in the titles - Sticker Star and Color Splash.

As for good games that are on the same level Nintendo games were 10+ years ago?

The Last of us, God of War, Spiderman, Halo, Red Dead, Ghosts of Tsushima. List goes on and on.

The people who think Nintendo still makes quality content probably also think mobile games are considered gaming.

“The ability to design a game that doesnt bleed every last dollar out of your players…”

looks at retail with 60$ box cost, $15 monthly subscription and microtransaction cash shop for mounts and cosmetics.

Uh, theyve monetized the game in every way possible. What on earth were you thinking of when you typed that out?

Not everything has to be a monetary transaction for it to be a monetary concession. I present Panda expansion as exhibit A. Your witness.
.
Edit: You could also at least place my post in context. The next sentence matters too: The cost is definitely the ability to design games that don’t bleed every last dollar out of your player base. So good design frequently takes a back seat to bottom line and short term profits.
