You can add ‘broken VRR support on Intel Macs’. 2019 MacBook Pro with eGPU (6600xt) and 165hz external monitor using DisplayPort. Flashing black frames/out of sync presentation etc. Terrible. Absolutely perfect on Sequoia, completely broken on Tahoe. No difference with HW cursor on/off etc. Reproducible on other Metal games (the witness).

I been telling users on non apple silicon macs to avoid os updates for a while now. each upgrade has only BROKEN things on intel macs and that’s it.

MacOS 14 broke drivers for intel integraded gpus
macOS 15 broke drivers for AMD gpus using Metal 2
macOS 26 broke drivers for AMD gpus using Metal 3

this means if you are on intel integraded gpu last stable macOS is macOS 13, metal 2 amd card should be on macOS 14, and your last stable OS is macOS 15

btw apple hasn’t added any fixes or enhancements to intel macs since macOS 13 at best. beyond that they ONLY care about apple silicon which is why they don’t notice or care each release after it has further broken intel macs. I would not count on your issue being fixed either as they have shown us that they’re not gonna fix issues even if blizzard reports them directly. I remember fiasco blizzard had with macOS 14 breaking intel IGPU drivers and despite outcry apple never cared to fix it. To this day those users still blame blizzard for it too cause they didn’t understand the real issue was apple saying “buy an apple silicon mac or else”

Yeah, rolling back to Sequoia. It’s a shame, as other parts of 26 are excellent. But gaming isn’t one of them on the last batch of Intel Macs.
