Mac mini or iMac?

That sounds great. Definitely keep us posted.

I’ll be going with the base model M4 MacMini Pro.
The M2 Pro has 16GB which is actually pretty good for gaming and video work so I’ll be contented with the upgrade to 24GB.

I am running on a MBP M3 Pro with 18 GB RAM mostly in clamshell mode

I have done both 4k & 1080 - I prefer my 1080p monitor because my eyes are bad. I can easily sustain 120 fps in Valdrakken @ 7 with just dropping the view distance ( can’t remember if I did Omegles tweaks to shadows, water & compute) but I didn’t drop render scale in 1080p (think I went 75% in 4K & made a few more changes)

The M4 mini supposedly is much stronger than the M3 pro - it should be fine

FYI - I have considered trading in my MBP for a mini pro since I rarely use it as a laptop ( I thought I would but just don’t)

always get the mac mini :expressionless: i love imacs too but it just makes sense to separate the computer from the monitor these days. you can choose anything from the cheapest most affordable monitor all the way to the most expensive one, and hell, you can even use both.

How much memory is wow using?

Longtime iMac owner, I switched to Mac mini because it lets me use any monitor, but importantly, lets me leave the monitor behind and toss the Mini into a briefcase. With HDMI use any convenient TV.
