M+ unfun this season

It’s early in the season, and might be a little early to call this for myself, but I’m getting close to being done for the season. I have tanked regularly for mythic plus since early on in shadowlands (quit during BFA, so didn’t do much then except for a small amount towards end of xpac).

I’m just not having fun. The dungeon pools are terrible. I enjoy ara’kara and NW, but other than that I don’t enjoy the content. Seems really odd to select Grim and Siege, but honestly, they are all pretty terrible.

So much of the damage for the group feels unavoidable. M+ has a huge problem right now. Trying to find groups on DPS alts is a nightmare that takes way, way too long to find a tank.

I’m glad some people enjoy Delves, but I don’t enjoy the content. It just feels like the majority of this xpac’s content wasn’t geared towards me. I only play M+, and it feels like the fun just got the nerf stick this xpac.

Hope it improves, and I plan on checking back in a month or two and see what’s changed. Are there any other M+ only players that feel this way, or maybe it’s just me?

what level M+ are you doing? do you feel the ramp of twenty levels of M+ down to 10 is causing the issue? are people not prepared for the new difficulty? Or is it the tank nerf? are the healers not ready for the extra healing involved… that was asked for by a ton of healers, especially those that dont like DPSing

It seems like they’re slowly whittling away all forms of counter play out of M+.

AOE Stuns? Nah fam, delete those. Mass dispel? Nerfed into the ground. AOE stops? Nerfed. AOE silences? One spec of Rogue gets one. Ability to dispel poisons, curses and diseases? Eh, spread em out randomly across healers, if either of them are missing anything, oh well. Knockbacks? These were useful for Spiteful, kind of. Being able to see AOE rot damage on the group? Nope.

You don’t even do anything anymore, you just mash damage. Oh I’m sorry and interrupt stuff. Very innovative.

I usually very much enjoy mythic plus. But lately, honestly, I’m not having the same fun I used to. Maybe it’s because I’ve been at it for so long, but frankly I am just really over having affixes. Tyrannical and Fortified are enough. I’m getting tired of having new sparklies to chase down and do things to in order to not cause catastrophe.

My rating is currently like 1850, so around 5-6’s. I think the scaling may be part of the problem. I used to progress from starting the season around 5-6’ and working up to 21 ish, but honestly I’m not sure if that’s part of the problem are not.

I do notice that when I make a mistake and don’t have a defensive up, I have to have a healing pot ready. Healing is a nightmare. Damage is way too bursty for the amount a healer has to do. Timer’s are brutal and unforgiving, and you really do need a group of players you trust to do the content. That’s the problem though, I enjoy pug tanking. I like accomplishing keys with strangers and putting a ragtag group together. It’s just become unfun. Wiping at all on a 5-7 key doesn’t brick it right away, but one more wipe and you’re pretty much bricked.

I also just don’t enjoy the dungeons, so maybe I just need to try next season. Idk.

I have done Delves and the M+ only up to 4’s. I enjoyed SL M+ and DF M+ (up til S3), but this season M+ is just not easy to PUG and be accepted as DPS.

Previously i would tank M+2 - M+4 (back in DF) and it was okay, but now I would not even consider tanking M+2 (most would be M0) . Also in DF (S1-S3, I could easily PUG as DPS up to M+15). But Now, I am happy tanking or soloing in Delves.

I enjoy doing my own thing in delves, if I die, I don’t need to apologize to anyone but myself. Also the groups I joined in Delves are ALOT chiller. The rewards at the end is also what makes me run Delves even if I am already at 613 Ilv (the random gear is addicting)

This isn’t M+, but in Heroic raid, just to survive, I’m using 4 different Health consumes, not even joking. Crimson Vial, Cavedweller’s, Algari and Healthstones.

Blizzard saw how successful season 3 DF was, and their natural reaction is to make it worse

Well it sounds like you probably do need to take a break or try some other content. Hope it feels better for ya next season!

Make sure to cancel your sub and note why. I got three weeks left on my sub. Blizzard doesn’t care until it costs them money.

i’m an admittedly b+ tank. i am finding it slow to get ramped up for m+.

i have enjoyed delves and have up to 9 so far. I’m just starting to get into mythics.

I miss the pathway of the previous m0-9 in ramp into the content. by the time I got to 10s, I felt like I more or less knew what I was doing.

It feels like I have to run a bunch of m0s. but here his the problem. I need nothing from them in terms of gear or crests. I could bank the stones of course. but there is no progression, only repetition.

M+ is a repetitive grind, duh. but at least when you moved from 2 to 3 to 4 etc in the previous system, you had a score that increased. you earned resources that made sense for your gear track.

all of that is gone now.

I have almost no score because I have only run three dungeons. All of my gear needs crests from +4s that I am not prepared to run yet.

there is just no sense of progression and that feels bad in a game where even small amounts of progression in terms of ilevel, score, etc feels good along the way.

The TWW dungeons seem pretty sweaty by design, yea.
Like that Skarmorak fight doesn’t NEED to be that sweaty for the pulsing aoe/shield phase. the balls could just affect dps out against the shield and give the healer actually a second to do some kind of dps rotation alongside everyone else instead of absolutely exasperating what people already hate about healthpools going 100, 10, 100, 15, 100, 10…

It’s so goofy and out of touch with what players are saying they hate about dungeons lol.

I have to pull the same HPS in a 5-man party as I do in a 25-man raid to keep my party alive in M+. Its absolutely insane how much damage goes out thats unavoidable. – Its crazy when you finish killing a pack of Mobs and have 900k+ HPS and still barely squeaked by with no deaths.

Imagine playing a Priest in a M+ dungeon pool full of unavoidable poison that ticks for 350-600k a tick on all five of your party members and you have absolutely no way to remove it, while simultaneously having some of the worst AoE burst healing in the game at the moment.

100% feel this. Party is dying, everyone is doing mechanics, and healer is ripping off the chart HPS. Like… what?!

I’m having fun.

If I’m gonna pick a dungeon I don’t like, it’s city of threads

Retails expansion are like some sort of “prison” soup they keep serving us… I wish we could go back to some “beef stew” kind of soup expansion

my gripe is.

Why is there a need to have soo many mechanics. it sucks the fun out of doing dungeons.
you have to do A B C D E to prevent EFGHIJK from happneing, annoying.

Everyone’s life pool also drops so fast too. Even in M2s, someone’s hp can be nuked ;_;.

Can’t we just play the game.

I am having fun on M+. And i am having fun with Delves too.

Grim Batol and Siege of Boralus could be a nightmare… when with a bad group. I experienced that, unfortunately. But it could be a breeze when with a decent group although it’s still very dynamic, heavy movement game. I love it so far.

When the Party Leader is picky where he scrutinize if the applicant has done those dungeons before, it would be a good run.

But if the Party Leader has a bad score and if he chooses applicant randomly without a goal in mind, that run would be a disaster. I left such group before it started.

the duality of man, i find GB to be my favorite dungeon this time

I’m starting to get pretty burnt out. Trying to get KSM and I am pretty close but these last few points feel like a slog
