I’ve had plenty of people leave when the key is going just fine
I can see Blizzard making a kick count. Letting people boot 4 players for 4 debuffs would be immensely funny
If the “mom said you have to play with me” crowd gets their way, it will be 1.
Even if the actual implemented number is higher, the first time I get into a failboat group, I’m gonna start metagaming ways to make them break up and abandon without getting that first tick mark on me. Because I don’t know what’s going to happen on the next key and if that group will be easier to subtly get out of.
Day 1 metagaming strategy is going to be: Never initiate the abandon vote. Make someone else do it so you have a least 2 votes on your side.
Develop MS and let your guild know about it in chat from time to time to set the stage.
Then when people don’t want to vote to end you have a sudden flare up.
Stay consistent.

These people are serial leavers. That’s the problem in and of itself.
If you run 100 keys and only leave five of them, that’s a 5% leave rate and unlikely to persuade anyone that you’re a liability to the group.

Yep, exactly what I was going to say. Lots of bad players are like “trust me bro we can do this”, and every now and then I’ll go to the end just so they can see how wrong they were.
Overall I can see this system never affecting me. I have very few instances of leaving a group. Still irks me.

Good news, I have irrefutable proof that I am in fact not a serial leaver. I almost always stick it out. Both my logs and key history shows it on multiple characters across multiple seasons (you can verify that on raider io or warcraftlogs). I still despise this system.
