I don’t understand what you really want… You want Raid become harder because now you can farm the heoric easily. LoL, I have to say raid is almost out of date for most of players nowadays if it will take 4hr a day and 3-5 times a week for 1 boss. That is why there are less than 100 guilds cleared M raid. Make the raid easier and easier like raid in WLK and Classic is the way to make more people come back to raid.
We have already worked for 5 days and 8hrs a day in real life. Why you guys want to continue your work for additional 15hrs in video game which doesn’t make sense
Raiding, as is known by a majority of this playerbase who have tried other MMO’s has NO equal on the market. PVE content, WoW has down to a T. The boss mechanics, class mechanics are unparalleled. Not to say it isn’t without problems or can’t be improved, but it’s WoW’s best feature for sure across all expansions.
If it’s feeling boring, it’s probably because you’re raiding as if you’re playing destiny 2, with a bunch of strangers, get out get loot repeat. Raiding, as it’s always been is about progressing hard content with your friends and learning. Find a guild group, progress and down a boss together. Not some eh guild you just met, not some basically pug guild that goes off of discord. A legit raiding team with people you can fight alongside. Do that, grab aotc with that group, then you have my permission to complain.
You run M+ first the first line above your head and you run raid for the second one.
Quick ajustement from a hockey saying, some people play for the name in their back other plays for the logo in front well raiding is that now. You raid for the accolades and early on gear. You do M+ for the vault.
Yea raiding is hard but there is no better feeling that killing a Mythic Boss with your guild you’ve been on for some time now. Doing my first 20 timed will be fun but not as fun …
P.s. I freaking hate raiding but I love getting that achievement popup.
Raiding, in all honesty, has lost its novelty for many players. Especially those in the gen Z bucket. If blizzard wants WoW to remain relevant into the future they need to appeal to the grab and go crowd more, not less. M+ is the future, sorry. Raiding on a set schedule is dinosaur gaming.
imagine having to play a set 8-12 hours a week, with 19 other people, when you can log on, jam a few keys when you want to, and then go do something else with your day. Smaller quicker content also appeals to busier people who cannot commit to a permanent schedule. Which is the vast majority of people.
There’s enough threads on this both ways. Raid only players feel M+ gear makes raids irrelevant, and M+ only players feel raid gear is too good and they can’t compete. I think the gear rewards are actually pretty balanced atm, but it is easier to gear up in M+ simply because it takes way less coordination and can be run infinitely. But the difference isn’t huge because of the valor cap.
That being said the real issue isn’t one is better than the other, it’s that it’s way to rewarding to do both. With the double dipping you can literally gear up twice as fast as someone who only does one.
The more of these posts I see, the more I think M+ and raids can’t coexist. It’s probably time for a PvP style gear split. And to solve the tier issue we’ll just need dungeon sets back, but less bad obviously. If nothing it’ll give people a reason to run for tmog
This extends to raid trinkets as well as special weapons. Granted some M+ trinkets suffer the same issue and are “must farm” for raiders who are competitive.
Storm and Greif trinkets for M+ players who don’t raid is an obnoxious reality that you’ll just always do less DPS than those who do. Frost mages who need skovold trinket suffer the reverse problem.
Items like the Raz bow are bad for the game. Blizz has to either tune hunters to do OP dps with the bow or do poor dps without it. Hunters that don’t raid end up nerfed for the entire tier.
Saving raiding: Easy fix, tbh. Because it’s easy to see when raiding fell off in participation.
Stop making mythic raiding into dark souls ddr/middle management nightmare. Raiding doesn’t need to be this hard. This has inched up over time, but a lot of people fondly remember raids like ZA, Karazhan, Emerald Nightmare, Highthold, etc. because they didn’t hit a wall that destroyed their friend group. They were able to keep progressing.
Allow flex and cross realm mythic. The hard 20 man requirement is only necessary because of how tightly the tuning is done. I don’t think that raids should even be that hard. Loosen it up and allow the thing to scale. The roster boss is big enough.
Really internalize that your target audience is the 2 night, 3 hour raid group. 10 man mythic needs to come back. Barring that, raids need to be EN levels of difficulty.
You wanna know the real reason that m+ is killing raiding? No roster boss. I can have 20 people in my guild and we can all do m+ to various levels and multi class and play as often or as little as we want and still get good gear. It’s fun. Y’all remember fun?
100% this post. If they allowed mythic raiding in a 10 man setting again, it would encourage many of my friends to return and raid again. Most of us are introverts and don’t want to deal with 19 people every week.
10 man raiding was vastly more popular than 25 man when they were both a thing. The fact they went with 20 over 10 in the compromised compression of total raid difficulties was always a huge misstep to me.
