Even balance is getting a bad wrap for doing subpar damage, and getting rejected due to our utility not making up for it feels bad. Wish at least one of our dps specs were good for damage, and it doesnt help that a lot of groups are making hunter/warlock manditory.
What’s any of that have to do with being “toxic” ?
Big difference between not being accepted and being kicked
Not too sure what’s your point here.
Balance in M+ is horrible.
We used to say balance does tank dps outside 3min cd, now balance does lower than tank dps outside 3 min cd.
After 4pc you are in a super bad position in aoe. You have to spent as power on star surge where the damage is far less than starfire on 3+ targets.
And the utilities for boomkin isn’t really that great. BR isn’t unique ability, 2 interrupts are both long cd and does not have stun. No proper team would want treant and in the end, your damage is horrible. 15k over damage is a m+ just isn’t good enough.
Face it, balance/feral are horrible in m+ this patch. You can still do 20 with them but your damage contribution is going be far less than your team mates. It is only going to be a time that balance wouldn’t get invited into a m+
Ferals pump actually. Seen quite a few in my keys getting 15-17k in overalls.
You always, however, take a boomie to DoS ![]()
Boomie and Warlock. You can clear the entirety of Arden wing in under 5 minutes.
After 4 piece? 4 piece doesn’t affect AoE. So it’s not that Balance is bad in AoE, it’s just others got a bigger boost via tier sets.
It’s 6 targets
And that’s what they addressed. Coupled with Pulsar, you’re in and out Eclipses a lot more often now. And it’s a double benefit seeing as you get to choose what Eclipse you go back into after CA
Not good enough for what? 30 keys? Perhaps not, but nothing is tuned nor balanced around that either.
My point is:
Does not suddenly make m+ toxic. Not getting accepted into a key does not make it toxic. This whole “woe is me, so the world is toxic” mentality seriously needs to go.
That can be said for every class
**
M+ as person is getting pretty toxic.
**
I think that this is a more fitting title. The lack of knowledge or other classes or their own on top of a lack of intolerance and impatience is worse this season than any other that I have seen before.
Neither you nor Grizzle is really wrong here. I really love the set bonuses this tier, but in higher key levels it’s kind of spiraled out of control for some specs leaving a lot of others in the dust. This isn’t druid specific. We’re fine for any role we play into the lower 20’s but beyond that you’re either tanking or you’re not playing, which is a lot of the reason that I’m playing resto while gearing up alts to catch up with my push group. My goal this season was to hit 3k io as feral this patch and while it’s possible and my push group would absolutely push with me to that goal if I wanted to because it’s me, it just makes my competitive nature feel bad. They are pushing in the 20’s right now and I’m kind of left behind by survival hunters and destro warlocks that double my damage.
If you are only doing 15-16 yeh sure.
For 20+ 15k damage can barely do it assuming you are the lowest damage output in the team.
Balance Druid is horrible in m+ compare to most of the other dps. Not sure why should you disagree with that.
Why do people just make things up when its so easy to look for ourselves?
https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports/2bJmcpqdaLHzvrZg#fight=2&type=damage-done
…because logs are a thing.
Balance is only 16% below the median for M+ at the 20 key range. Wouldn’t really consider that as “horrible” or “compared to most of the other dps”
If that’s not horrible then ok.
I have done 20 and 21 so that’s why I say balanced Druid can still do 20, but we have a significant difference against other dps and I do believe this need be addressed, not pretending “we are fine”
You’re conversing with people who don’t have first hand experience, give them a break.
You are correct.
Although… I just didn’t want one in million chance if one day blizzard developer accidentally dropped in here and thought everything is fine thanks to these “balance are fine” non sense…
So what is considered “fine” ?
Seems most people don’t consider their class fine unless they’re in one of the 5 slots for meta
Balance is clearing 25-26 keys. So you have a while before you have to worry about not being good enough for keys/invites
Can you really blame them? It feels like a massive amount of community perception comes from those top slots, it’s not very uncommon to hear about wanting X class due to how well they’re performing, and with higher performance does come with the pretty unarguable fact that it’s just going to be smoother, since unless you want a certain niche that the higher performer can’t fulfill, then a pretty vast majority of the time, the class with the better performance is going to get taken.
It’s getting into game balance theory of how do you correctly balance so many classes while still making them feel different and stand out while also keeping them in line with each other, but to me being 16% below the average at that key range is getting pretty far away from being in “average” territory.
Yes.
If 16% is too much of a gap and we must be concerned, then being 25% behind on key difficulty means they’ve got plenty of room to still be invited to keys before having to worry, therefor they shouldn’t concern themselves until they hit that wall ![]()
Balance can actually be very good in M+ as can any spec, but it will require a Bit of extra work.
In a large number of pulls there is a high health mob that always ends up being the last one alive being single targeted like a risen warlord, shard, deathlord speaker, etc. You can spend your capped AP on surges that prio these targets. This won’t show up on the meters but it results in faster pulls. This is why sub rogues are S tier in M+ yet are unimpressive on the meters due to the highest health mob taking damage.
My suggestion would be to make a “starsurge focus target” macro and focus the high health mob at the start of the pull. You won’t look as great on the meters and people likely won’t have any idea why the run was fast, but it will translate to successful, quick runs.
The problem is that people don’t understand how important prio single target damage is in M+. On my resto Druid I’ll do like 4-5k, but it’s mostly prio target that speeds up the pull. I could inflate the overall by doing pointless aoe, but higher overall damage is often slower than lower overall that is prioritizing the highest health mob.
Got into a 16 last night after being asked for my spec and telling them I was cat, which typically results in the end of the conversation.
Good IO and timed keys can go a long way for getting into groups. 2300 and one are two timed 15’s and it was taking forever to get into a group. 2550 and close to 20 timed 15+'s and it’s a lot easier.
It sucks but it’s probably just paying your dues.
^^^ this.
When I push my own keys, I never look at class. I’m looking at rating, timed runs and lastly, ilvl. I don’t care about what class/spec you play.
People who do are dumb.
Last month I was 700 rating. Game is hard!!! Lol.
Quit crying and push your rating.
Youre not being declined “cus balance”. Youre being overlooked because 20-30 other dps with a better rating applied.
Cut the crap.
