Lunar Festival - Zzzzzzzz

With Zone Scaling it would be even easier for lower level characters to run around Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor collecting the coins.

This is my first Lunar Festival and unlike the other holiday events, I have no idea what I’m supposed to be doing.

That’s part of the fun.

Happy they decided to update the incentives to do the Festival. Time to drag out the lowbie alts.

Sometimes ‘I choose to have it all’ isn’t an option.

So Blizzard got any sells on video game’s ? I would love to pick up Warcraft 3 reforged for 15 dollars I mean its currently 30 dollars…

So I would still have to pay 15 dollars… if its on sell for 15 then can use my Token and get it free.

How would it be a lore thing? There’s no old people in Kul’tiran, Pandaria which is literally a chinese inspired continent, where the lunar festival takes place.
This guy has fair complaints, the coin system is boring and out of date.
They could update moonglade, an almost unused place now a days, for the holiday events. Or even move the Lunar festival to Pandaria. A lot of people never got to explore pandaria, cause they just skipped over it. I know I did. Why not give people a reason to go see it? Why not add new events like a race against other players, a piggy that’s lost out in pandaria and needs a large group of players to help him get home for an event? This may not work because of sharding, and lfg would probably need to be used to assemble a group. I shouldn’t have to have multiple characters to get the event items. They could just add something like dynamic events in the form of world quest in the old world, like a firecracker festival in random spots that you need to help the festival by getting food supplies, helping youth. Something fun and interesting.

I feel like they added the pig to the store cause they couldn’t add anything interesting for the pig to be a reward.

This is how:

He gave his opinion and I gave mine. What’s with the defensiveness? :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

The pig was added for the same reason the dog was added. And the same reason the rat will be added next year: Chinese New Year.

Close. They were added in the store, and not the game because $.

Kultiran is on azeroth. Are you saying they just didn’t exist during then? Also how is me debating, on a forum, for debating and discussion of a game being defensive? I’m just stating they haven’t updated many of the events. And it shows. They’re stale.

Yes it’s chinese new years, the lunar festival. But as with the dog. They could’ve made it a reward, why not make it something exclusive for the YEAR OF THE PIG? Instead of just adding a shop item I have to pay nearly 42% of the expansions cost for? that’s just blatant greed. Blizzard wants money, which is totally fine. But if more people had content they wanted to do, rather than farm for recolors. Pet raids, and things that people haven’t really asked for, they wouldn’t have to shove out a ton of cash shop mounts.
Or even if they added a GOLDEN variant for a reward of the pig. It would’ve felt great. I shouldn’t have to spend 25$ to celebrate a great holiday.
Gong Xi Fa Cai.

Last time I checked, they weren’t around ten thousand years ago. And when they did come into existence, they didn’t want anything to do with us after the war until just now.

I never said they couldn’t update the stuff. I only said it might be a lore reason why they didn’t. So what’s the problem with giving a possible reason as to why they might not have updated it?

Because you’re trying to pick a fight over things that I never implied, but you seem to have gotten all bent out of shape about.

They did make it something exclusive for the Year of the Pig. And they couldn’t make it a free reward, because it’s a 6 month sub bonus for China.

If you want to go cry about shop mounts, you’re in the wrong thread. This one is about Lunar Festival. Not a China mount they put in the store for Year of the Pig.

You don’t have to buy anything to celebrate Chinese New Year and the Year of the Pig.

Personally, I banged all the world events out when they were released and got free flying on my paladin, who completed the meta. I like that they’ve added new stuff over the years to the events because it feels like they have some purpose for me again.

My low alt went up 3 levels and I got enough coins for a couple of flower crowns. Sounds good to me.

And if they would have added nothing people would complain about that.

Add new toys, complain. don’t add new toys, complain, Blizzard is wrong both ways.

I agree with the sentiment that the event needs some updating, a bit more polish. I understand not updating older zones that no one really plays in anymore, I get that, but holiday events are promotional events that go on the calendar and generates enthusiasm. It was disappointing that Brewfest did not change or reflect more dark irons, especially after they were released as an allied race. Sure, it didn’t contradict the lore, but it was a grand opportunity to tweak it. And then children’s week – come on. We have children models for the freaking Vulpera and yet even more human children, but still none for the old school races such as dwarves, taurens and so on. I find myself just checking for new toys and moving on, not really getting immersed with the event itself. None of these things are critical, but it would be nice to have these events re-evaluated and updated. It is definitely weird that the Lunar Festival didn’t expand to Pandaria.

I’m inclined to think this is at least SOME of their motivation. I think I have 90 Coins in the bank from previous years, because I figured something like this was coming.

I also have a nice stack of the currency from the Trial of Style, because those don’t fade either. Do yourself a favor…
