"Lucrative" treasure mission

I get that these systems are setup just to get us to play, but still…

4 x Heroic Island Expedition wins to get the single mission
300 x War Resources to run it
36 hour long mission for 3 champions

Reward is 5,000 gold

But, I could go skin mobs for less time and do way better… sigh.

I think the upshot is that there is no intention to make missions actually worth doing in the game. Even the normal gold ones got upgraded from 70 gold to a whopping 120 to 200 gold. This is a lame duck version of WoD and Legion boards for sure.

that’s it 5k? its an epic treasure map I was thinking it would be 5k + a gem or something

And 1500 azerite I guess, but I don’t track or care about that at all on any toon. The -300 war resources is a huge slap in the face - I mean if this mission was “unlocked” so I get it now w/o the expeditions, then sure - that makes sense. But a one-off? Yeah, not gonna bother again.

Frankly any activity like this should fare better than skinning mobs - if not, then it’s an all out fail.

LOL you’re lucky! Mine is a piece of 325 gear that i can’t use and will probably AH for less than 200.

I got a 2,000 azerite mission with a 1,500 bonus.

No thanks. I really don’t feel like doing IE’s, what 4 each week on a bunch of characters for that. If IE’s were fun I wouldn’t say anything but they’re even worse than doing a wq.

You have to remember that these treasures were buried years ago. 5000g was a big deal back in the day.

Mine is a 310 green with a bonus for 1500 AK, 2% bonus chance.

I did that last night and when I logged in this morning the mission isn’t in my table anymore.

OMG I am not doing these again, that would have sent me into a rage.

I noticed it had an 8 hour expiry and all my followers are on 5 hour missions, so i have a small window to grab this. And yeah, that is really, really lame.

Those “lucrative” missions might as well not exist as far as I’m concerned, because they require me to do island expeditions to get them :stuck_out_tongue:

Sorry Blizz, I’m done being led by your carrots to do content I don’t want to do. I’ll simply ignore it, like that not so subtle kill 25 horde quest. Maybe try making content I want to do, that feels worth doing instead? BTW just let that sink in… I don’t think having to run 4 IE’s is worth 5000 gold… that’s how much I dislike them.

Mine was a 19 Titan Residuum with 1500 AP bonus.
Guildmate had a 22 Titan Residuum with the 1500 AP bonus.

I didn’t have followers available at the time and it had an 8 hour expiration timer last night. Guess I’ll see if it completely goes away or if it’s like the outpost missions and comes back.

Mine was 20 residuum, which I would be happy about except that I clicked it while all of my followers were out and so it will expire before they return. I am super sad about it.

When we finished running our weekly, guildmate noticed that the bar to fill was still there with another map as a reward. Presumably you can fill it again for another map. Of course, this could also be a bug, we didn’t opt to do more after completing the weekly.

Wouldn’t it be nice if there was stuff like this in the patch notes…?

“Hey, you get this mission triggering reward but be careful, the mission is only good for 8 hours before it’s gone”.

My mission ended up being for residuum with bonus chance of azerite.

Update, mine expired before I could get other champions out of other missions, and I didn’t see it come back. That’s a pretty nasty deal there.
