Xrealm BGs was a change. We never had full NA cross realm bgs. For the majority of vanilla we had same server only bgs. Then for the last 5 months or so of it we had battlegroups.
Sub 60 PvPers never argued against x-realm BGs. We had just the right population to ensure good queues and still recognize regulars.
The argument against x-realms were from end game players because yes, they don’t have a community like we have.
You can continue to make general conclusions and pretend it applies equally to different communities and then exclaim “IRONY!” but it just betrays that you don’t have the foggiest grasp on the situation.

Vast majority of sub-60 players would have been smart enough to recognize that x-realm BGs were a good thing. For level 60, I would agree that it’s better to not have full x-realm BGs to build up more of a community, like the sub-60 bracket.
It seems you can’t process the fact that the needs/wants of different brackets may differ. Why is this such a tough concept for you to grasp?
