Low keys are so bad

We +1’d a 12 Gambit. Lock had no invis pots, didn’t have the flightpoint, we ended up having to do Zug. Hunter didn’t lust first pull (but I didn’t ask, so that’s fair) but when asked to lust 1st boss so we at least get 2 lusts instead of 3, he didn’t. He lusted the last 20% of the dragon boss, resulting in 15 seconds of wasted lust.

I know it’s “it’s low keys!” but this isn’t super high level gameplay here. Pressing lust. It’s like WoW 101. You have lust, you press it. If you don’t know when, at least do it when someone says “Lust!”.

I mean it’s not as much a question of need as it is “let’s make it go faster”. Should I also never have used Avatar and Demo shout ? Maybe not drop Spear ?

Like if you have it, even in a +2, push it. There’s no reason to hold it just because “it’s not needed”.

Same key ,same hunter, coming into Soleah’s area, he runs straight down the stairs. And by straight, I mean straight, right through the big trash we’re skipping. The whole group is off to the side looking at him, lock goes “WTH BRO YOU TROLLING ?!?!” (which is rich after not having the flight point and not having any invis pots) and the mob is just attacking him and he’s doing nothing. Guy was probably drunk. WTV it was his key, took 24 minutes to do a +12.

Based on an n > 50 of a completely subjective phenomenon that has no reliable instrument to measure unless placing subjects under an fMRI to determine whether or not the pleasure centers of the brain show more/less electrical activity during higher/lower keys.

Study rejected.

Yawn. Drop the “you care enough to post” crap. It’s so overdone.

Also, I don’t do m+ so I’m curious to know… is that common in lower keys? Or just your experiences with them? Do players like you help the other players by letting them know when to lust, or do you just get angry and come throw a tantrum on the forums about it?

People being absolutely terrible at their Classes’ 101 ?

It’s pretty hit or miss. Just did an Iron docks where the Healer had to do the Iron Stars because the 3 DPS were like bots following me around, and the Hunter again never lusted, we ended up using drums after asking him.

No one CC’ed the hydra thing on the 3rd boss either, Druid had to chain cyclone it between my Stormbolt until the DH finally decided to cage it. Hunter was dead most of the time, 2 of the DPS did sub-tank damage. The DK was 282 ilvl, 1700 IO, did 9.6k overall, I did 12 as the tank! Looking at his armory, it’s obvious he’s been carried. Didn’t even bother to kill 15 LFR bosses for a Gavel.

Like doing anything 8-14 is harder than running 15-19s.

In the OP I said I asked him. Twice too. I was literally typing out assignments for mechanics on Soleah.

Same in the Iron Docks. I asked the hunter for lust. I asked people to do Iron stars.

I feel though once you’re in the 10+ range, you should understand your class and your role in a dungeon.

You’ve not seen me angry. This is me still being somewhat amused at the whole thing. Honestly, it’s good to discuss these things on the forums. If people can see and learn that maybe these things they are doing they think are good aren’t actually good, maybe they’ll get better.

If the level 56 hunter didn’t all go defensive, he might have actually learned the Gambit lust timings had he just asked about them ? “Where did you expect him to lust ? First pull, then first boss if up, 2nd if not, and last boss if available after he transitions to 2nd phase”. Boom, someone learned something rather than try to be quippy.

remember i said there were like 4-5 reasons i only run higher keys? i told you i didn’t want to list all of them - but

this is one of them Raiimir :100:

in my experience, people just tend to take a casual +20 or +22 more serious than some random scrub in a +10-15 expecting you to carry…the run just goes more smooth i think

I feel you, but at the same time, gotta climb. I want to main swap for DF and I don’t want my new main to be some undergeared scrub.

But still, the amount of hard carrying in keys under 15 is insane. Did a yard as Fury, pulled 19.9k overall, the tank did 17.2k, the other 2 DPS were sub 10k.

sigh.

Unrelated but if you don’t log on that toon, do you get to keep that appearance on that toon year round?

the one pain for being a pug player, is having to climb out of the trenches at the beginning of every patch

Week 1 and 2 climbing is so easy.

This end of season climbing though is painful. People don’t invite me based on my main’s IO score, it’s crazy getting refused for +12s.

i never understood why people do that tbh (decline high io player alts)…they think you’re bad? or elitist or something?

That was done away with in SL. You only get extra loot from doing higher than 15s now.

I mean, I’d get if my main was like 2k-2.1k, obvious probably carry bait. But 2.7k io main ? Come on, you know I know what I’m doing ! DECLINED!

Why are u even running keys? The content and skill required is such a joke. Get at pvp or raid man. Leave the carebear stuff for the carebears … there problem solved!

You can get into low keys? I got myself to 290 ilvl and timed the keys I wanted to join at 20 and people still refuse to invite me.

The trick is late night when groups are slower to fill, and sneak in as the tank.

It’s always maddening to get declined as DPS for 15 minutes, join as a tank, and then see what kind of DPS is actually invited. Sub tank damage, no interrupts.

there’s a big difference between a 10 minute cooldown and a 1 minute cooldown.

That makes some ense maybe.

Been there. I would invite a lust class to my group like a Hunter(even making sure they are not MM with lone wolf, usually a BM) and they wont use heroism. I will call for it, nadda. I question like “why did I even bring this person if they can’t do the 1 thing I invited them to do”

I honestly gave up on this community, most people with a hero like spell has 0 clue how to use it, or when to use it, and wont even listen when told to use it. So just always bring drums when you lead groups and don’t stress over what classes you invite

And this is why I will never do mythic plus…

No offense. The game is designed that way. I’m just saying I HATE “rushing” against a clock.
