I mean, if you live in the sticks are you entitled to eat at good restaurants? Living in flyoverstan has it’s benefits and costs. Not blizzard’s obligation to put forth effort to reward people for bad choices.
Youre wrong cornball. They mass banned players pulling their own modem cord in diablo. So yeah they can tell the difference
It’s just unrealistic. Even the addon appeal system was self governed. Who isn’t going to grant their own appeals?
Anyway, maybe they could make a system that allows for immediate logouts, like D2 but people might complain that it trivializes or changes gameplay.
Tank dies in a Raid or Instance and everyone just insta logs.
Healer gets scared and logs mid fight, then claims it was a dc…
The game is how it is now. Any changes would bring other changes, for better or worse.
You’ve ascended, wisps are superior, they move 50% faster.
Down princess. That conversation was over with
Yeah let’s not put in dc safety feature just because someone might exploit it in some niche case.
Classic leveling is extremely easy, I’m at 31 without ever being close to dying, there’s no need to exploit dcing.
And if they really want to make it unexploitable, give a limited protection, like once or twice a day, and after u got it, you’re notified u got 0 protection left.
The best way to avoid DC deaths is to level with a friend, which is what i’m doing. I’ve already had to save my friend when he DCed in the middle of a cave.
I typically don’t like “slippery slope” arguments. But an appeal for DC deaths is a slippery slope.
I understand that losing a character to DC is going to sting. Losing to something outside my control is never going to be easy.
If it happens to me I will accept that as a legitimate end to that character. Sometimes in games (and life) you can do everything right and still fail.
All you can do is pick yourself up and start again.
Stay safe out there.
That’s nice for you, but the majority of people will just quit.
I died from casters that were still casting at me from 100 yards away, I was running away, clearly out of range, but they still kept casting on me. As I am in the graveyard I finally get the DC message. How lame
I nearly died to a DC while fighting skeletons in Duskwood yesterday. It wasn’t an internet related DC though, it was a terrain bug DC. I was fighting on a sloped area of a graveyard and I think I stepped into a little grave area and instantly kicked out of the game.
By the time I logged back in I was at 40% HP and had 2 skeletons beating on me. If I was fighting yellow mobs instead of greens, I would have been dead.
let the characters AA if they dc for a fighting chance
Won’t help either of you if the server crashes.
This. We agree to the terms and DC deaths are deaths as far as blizzard is concerned. So, I’ve been leveling with a friend in the off-chance of a DC (which rarely happens to me).
Last night, in a group with a pug we became friendly with and invited to disc VC, they DC’d and we were able to protect them.
I bike to work - I could randomly get hit by a car for whatever reason one day - so I take all steps I can to mitigate that. I know the risks. I enjoy biking though, so I’m going to do it, but be smart in how I do it.
The buddy system helps mitigate death by DC (but doesn’t prevent it - just gives me a fighting chance).
If I’m on my HC main with out my buddies - professions and low level stuff for me. Push content can wait. I’ll just enjoy the fishing in the mean time! Or level an alt!
There really is safety in numbers. If you are fighting alone, you do put yourself at risk.
True, server crashes end lots of HC runs. Blizzard could do 5 minute rollbacks then right?
There isn’t really anything they can do though. If there is DC protection, then everytime someones about to die they will just unplug their router.
Its kind of alot to ask but I heard someone suggest that when you get DC the game runs a botlike script that wont move but retaliate whatever is attacking you with your basic ability rotation and also try to use a potion or cast quick heals if you go below a certain hp.
