People are afraid that the addon will change with the time , and its gonna be easy to track other people that using the addon and those people will easy find group and invite between each other. if you not using the addon you wont see those msgs. so for example if they are 5 pug raids but all of them using the addon and you dont have the addon you wont see any raids because its between those people with the addon. thats gonna force more people to get the addon too

Depends on how it works. Vanilla lfg addons would advertise in the chat channels for you and constantly search the chat for keywords and bring them to your attention so you wouldn’t have to sit there and watch the chat like a hawk.
If Blizz deems it necessary then they will break this addon. Just know that they might have to break other functions to stop this addon from working at all. Be careful what you wish for.

You should have to spam chat like a normal person, get to know the group and not disband when a single problem arises. LFG addon makes players disposable.

Again… for the ten thousandth time… this addon isn’t a cheat or an exploit… It doesn’t port you to the instance or anything like that… you still have to run for an hour to get there. It just helps find people for a group. You’re going to see the same spam in chat whether it’s the addon or manual… who cares?

Still makes it easy to toss a “bad” player out who is probably doing fine, but isn’t the healer or tank, because they refuse to accept the blame. We have huge servers now so it creates a problem that didn’t exist on the old vanilla realms. Gotta ban it.
I’m not sure what a lfg addon has to do with tossing a bad player out. If they’re not doing their job, they’re going to get tossed anyway. I was a total noob to online games and I was terrible at wow back in vanilla, and I got booted all the time… trust me, it’ll be fine. lol
Makes it much quicker to scoop up a replacement. You really can’t deny it, because you’d be happy to avoid it if it didn’t give that advantage.
I actually take offense to that. I’ve been an advocate for classic since BC. And literally millions of users wanting classic is not the vocal minority.

Its not just the functionality of the add on. Its the whole social dynamic that it skews. People that cannot see that are only seeing half the story here. Many of the Classic players want nothing to do with any LFG feature, TOS breaking or not. Its simply soul crushing to them. Its very cruel and heartless for people to not acknowledge this at least.
So you’re saying that the dislike of this addon is purely subjective and the arguments against it have no objective or logical basis. Gotcha.

“spirit of vanilla” is all about community. This add on breaks this.
This is purely speculation and emotions. There is no evidence that proves that this addon is community breaking.

I’ve never heard of LFG addons in vanilla either. Seems to me it for all intents didn’t exist-- I watched many ‘best addon’ videos and not once was a group finder mentioned.
I’m aware of the irony that the backlash to this new addon has in fact made it much more popular, but it’s better than ignoring the problem.
That’s exactly what is going to happen, and there will probably be an addon to rate people like raider io too.
Yes, it has made more people aware of it. But if you look at all the feedback in discords, twitter, and reddit it is hated pretty much across the boards. Blizzard is getting a huge amount of negative feedback for this add on.
There was a vanilla addon that was literally named looking for group.

It won’t break it, but it will hurt it.
Hasn’t there been enough encroachment of exactly this kind of convenience over the years? The game is in the sorry state it is now because of all of these things combined.
I’d rather it wasn’t damaged at all thanks. It will damage important initial introductions and that emergent and more organic grouping up with people out in the world and in towns. People will OBVIOUSLY come to depend on this easy-one-fix tool rather than engage in the world in a less convenient way.
People do in fact work against their own best interests ALL THE TIME. Need I mention fast food and not bothering to exercise?
there was also an add on that let you completely automate your character. But that add on was broken. They can break add ons not in the spirit of vanilla.
