Lost will to play retail. Waiting for classic

It was slapped together by Blizzard to grab as much money as they could and it was an unfortunate mess.

When you word your criticism like this ... people will tune out. It's easy to dismiss the complaints of people who seem to do nothing but complain.

Seacrest OUT

If you want to tune out of criticism that is quite clearly true, then that's your issue - not mine.

The demo was very clearly rushed together. I don't need to list all of the problems with the demo, they're already posted all over this forum and you can find YouTube videos that cover all of them. The demo was not a representation of what Vanilla was, of what Classic is supposed to be.

It was slapped together because Blizzard knew thousands of people would buy into it, and at $50 a pop, that's hundreds of thousands to millions of dollars for them.

They could have really worked on a demo that got the game right. They could have tweaked all the numbers. They could have worked on details. They could have made sure they had skills/talents right. They could have taken their time and put together a demo that showed they were really on track to creating a faithful Vanilla remake.

They didn't show that. They showed that they had a heavily flawed demo filled with holes that they were willing to throw out because they knew people would buy it.

I'm just speaking my mind and being open about what I really feel Blizzard did. If you can't take someone speaking their mind and being truthful about what they're seeing, then you clearly have issues with real discussions and that's on you, not me. There's no reason to pretend they did a great job when they didn't. I'm going to call them out when they put out garbage.

I'm not calling Blizzard names. I'm calling forum users names. I'm not raging. I'm not being dishonest. I'm just speaking my mind - which is the proper way to communicate, and I'm doing it respectfully.

Blizzard could have done far better - and they should have.

Then they go on with the lie of how they're talking with the community, being active and really getting into what people want... But they show absolutely zero evidence of doing so. There are almost no blue posts here talking with us. They're not asking questions or being active, and they're not updating us on how things are going. They're almost completely silent. This makes them liars; they're saying things people want to hear, but not actually doing it. I'll call them out on that, too.

They could take control of the forums in various ways and clean the place up of trolls and people going overboard and attacking other users and blues. They could come on here, like they say they're going to, and start opening up discussions. But they don't.

Plain and simple? I'm tired of being lied to by Blizzard. It's getting old.

But I'm still sticking around and giving them a chance to do something worth supporting. Because maybe - just maybe - they'll do it right.

So, you can do your funny little 'SeaCrest Out' (whatever that means) and what not... Or you could open your mind a little to what other people are saying and try to focus in on a real discussion and look around and what's really happening right now with this thing. Up to you. Doesn't really matter to me either way, but I'll continue to speak my mind - both positive and negative.
Just deleted retail install today.... BfA is atrocious to the point where even doing the bare minimum to farm up gold for tokens for free classic subscription just isn't worth my time, effort, or limited drive space since my HDD gave out on me last week.

As for subscription? Well, gold-tokens have me paid up until probably AQ40 comes out in Classic, so not much can really change on that front.

In retrospect, the HDD kicking the bucket was a blessing in disguise, because it really forced me to look at whether BfA was worth my drive space at all... and now that it's gone... rather than being upset about missing my game, I'm more relieved that I'm not going to have to log on every day for 5-10minutes to earn token gold.

Nostalgia never lasts.

It's lasted longer than my enjoyment in WoW...
Feel the exact same way

Who else is in this boat with me?! I literally can only think of playing classic.

I've mapped out what zones and instances Il do at what level, profession leveling, plotted my bank space/bags, and plotted what instances to get the tier 0 gear and weapons I want to go for first as a stepping stone.

Today I began rereading start on the Baron45 run so I can be prepped for it.

Yeah I plan a lot for my profession, it leaks through to other things!
Not going to raid?

The problem with this is that almost all of the complaints are saying the exact same things. Surprisingly the community is not as fractured as you might think in what they don't like about BFA or modern WoW. Sure everyone does not agree on everything but that's normal.

Ignoring and undermining this sea of criticism just because that's the only way anyone knows how to argue anymore is not conducive to the longer term health of the product.
I enjoyed the leveling in retail. I learned in Cata that in retail you just play to level cap and then stop. Turn the game off, unsub, and then wait for the next xpack.

Why doesn't blizzard just release a new xpack with 60 levels and focus on worldbuilding again. This engame focus somehow makes the endgame worse.
I've been in the boat waiting for classic since Cataclysm.

I think dude left yo
I've been fed up since early Legion.
I was really looking forward to the new retail content because I like the lore but after stuff like Diablo mobile and GMs removing city raids to avoid their !@#$ty servers crashing, I've decided I would rather slit my wrists than give Blizzard my time on their modern products

Loot trading and, loot trading and, loot trading and.....
Yeah my friend and I are both in the same boat, playing BfA for some reason when what we really want to play is Classic. Mythic+ lost it's sparkle by the end of Legion for me and I stopped caring about raiding a long time ago.

I think my biggest issue is that with all of the loot changes it feels like you never have a chance to get off the loot treadmill because anything could be an upgrade. Some may think it's great, but I liked having that spot where you were just down for a bit.

Ready for a bit of old school, even if it was the most casual of the old school.

Evidently it lasts longer than garbage blizzard is currently spewing out.

People have been playing vanilla wow for over 10 years now lol.
I lost the will to play retail like 6 years ago, in the Panda addon.

I took a break several times after playing 24/7 in classic and BC. Missed Lichking almost completely, came back to the Cata disaster and finally left the game with the Panda addon.
