Lost Faith in Hunter Dev

It was worded more as “they have no hunter overhauls to announce at this time”
which leaves copium open to literally anything happening before launch. but it probly means “looooool enjoy being garbage for another expansion :)”

This is their philosophy on hunter, make a bm a brain dead easy spec, get a plurality of people on that spec. Then give like no support cause they wouldn’t want to change a spec that people are hooked on already and the other 2 have no one playing so they don’t matter.

I’ve been absolutely dumbfounded to see Unholy DKs and Demo Locks receive without a doubt the most unique, fantasy driven, powerful, and just strait up dope hero talents in the game, while like always, BM is left with nothing. More procs of Kill Command and Barbed Shot has been the grand total of our hero talents… It’s so bad, that upon first reading Pack Leader design, I was sure that I was incorrectly understanding the talents…

BM already has the most poorly developed, boring, and bug filled spec design in the game… I was a fool for thinking the devs would make up for it with our hero talents…

What the post means is they will not work on the hunter class in TWW maybe patch 12.0 or 13.0 so the normal for blizzard devs next expansion we promise lol.

How much has bm actually changed since legion? The most notable changes i can think of are beast cleave lasts longer and call of the wild keeps beast cleave up for the duration. Kinda boring to me.

that is not what was said.

TBF they haven’t even said there’ll be changes after launch either.

I think it’s fair to be vocally disappointed.

The ‘no changes’ decision was a poor one - the class is neglected & has gameplay issues. However…

Hunter isn’t even receiving basic maintenance.

In every list of patch notes since there have been classes receiving “no changes” who’ve received at least some attention… hunter has got nothing but a minor change to the pvp coefficient of aimed shot.

That’s justifiably upsetting.

Nope. Unaware of this.
When did they say this?

and that’s about the sum total of attention we’ve received since the rogue dev explained to the rogues in what manner aspect of the turtle was buggy (i.e. how it interacts with blade flurry).

Oh.
So Memberberry is just way off then, as Kaivax says to expect some revisions in a future Alpha build lol, and mentions nothing about no significant changes.

Which will mean tweaks to the existing boring and lifeless trees and nothing regarding the core class issues.

TWW, according to the roadmap, has beta between spring and summer, prepatch heading into Summer, TWW launches between summer and autumn with the first content patch and 20th anniversay coming in Autumn. Which means November 23 for the Anniversary patch.

This puts TWW launch at around Late August.

A month for prepatch is normal so that puts us at first week of August for 11.0.

Beta is usually around 6 weeks so that puts us at about 20th to 23rd of June for Beta.

That gives us about 5 more weeks of Alpha.

Given that nothing major changes in Beta and nothing major will change on week 4 or week 5 of alpha (as it would leave no time for testing) that gives us about 3 weeks for anything major to change.

The scope of changes needed, unless they have been secretly saving a giant overhaul for us in the background this whole time, means 3 weeks isnt long enough - at least not for anything more than tweaking.

Given they actively said there are no major changes coming AND the only thing they DID say was theyd be “cleaning up” hero talents I cant see that happening. Especially as all the other classes have had major changes with no real announcement and we, exclusively, were told nothing major was in the works which means its INCREDIBLY unlikely there is some secret big overhaul coming or they’d have either said so or said nothing and definitely not said no changes expected.

That means no change next expansion

I agree there’s no way they’re going to address core class mechanics.
But to be honest I’m not as bothered by the core class mechanics as I am about the Hero Talents. They have time to rework at least one of the Hero Power talent trees, which is basically what that post said they’d be looking to do.

And yes this sounds like good old Hunter copium, but the fact that they haven’t yet done anything is maybe a sign that the “tweaking” they need to do is more than they initially estimated.

I still think Hunter is deserted and we wont get a juicy dev-blog that say, Warlocks and DKs just got. But Memberberry’s statement is also wildly inaccurate.

There is no hunter dev.

I said something similar on few posts and some hunters didn’t agree with this opinion. But yea. They know BM will be most played spec, even now Hunter has highest percentage of all classes, and BM is most played Hunter spec. They think it’s fine based on stats
