Losing my mouse

I am not visually impaired in any way, but as I get into more “active” content (M+ and some raiding), I find that I’m losing my mouse in all the spells, bars, pings, etc. Not typically a big deal except when I want to put down an AOE spell or a trap or something else depending on which char I’m playing.

Is there anything in WoW that can better highlight the mouse or immediately show me where it’s at on the screen? (Regular settings - I didn’t see anything except make it larger; macros to make it highlight; add-ons?)

Cursor tail let’s you add some visual effects that can make it easier to track with your eyes

There’s also some others that do circles around it.

My solution was to increase my cursor size to the second largest size.

Same here, OP. I’ve always had trouble with it. They added options to increase the cursor size, but I would prefer options to change its colour. They have that in diablo and I find it very helpful.

I set my instances graphic slider to 3, to tamp down the sparkling. I also enlarged the mouse cursor, that one helped a ton.

I can’t remember if this is the one I started using, but out of the box, it leaves a lightning/electricity-looking trail, and it has been a game changer for me. I typically heal so losing that cursor is a big problem.

this happens to me often. wish was a better setting without addons for it then enlarged mouse

I think a bold or thin outline of the cursor would help, maybe a red outline for my taste, it could be customizable.

I use a lot of @cursor macros these days but the first part is finding where the cursor is, I try to keep it centered but sometimes it gets lost in the chaos.

Hmm… what’s the frequency Kennith?

I use an addon called CursorGlow. It has lots of options to make it more visible. Otherwise I could lose seconds trying to find the mouse among the many layers of effects.

Not sure if this is the exact one I use. But I just wiggle my mouse and it gets big to show where its at.

I tried the trail type addons, but they are too distracting.

Yeah, I think they add too much visual fluff. And I dislike the circles around the cursor.

I really wish we were allowed to just use custom cursors, it’s not like the cursor image is client side anyways. Make my cursor a nice Fel Green and I’ll never lose it again.

This is actually a very helpful thread. I’ve had this problem for ages and I figured it was because I deal with terrible vision and astigmatism. I’m going to have to check out some of these comment recommendations.

For a second I read “Losing my House.”

As for the topic in question, there are surely addons for that.

I had the same exact issue when I tried to use the default UI the other day.

Turns out, ElvUI having the tooltip anchored to the cursor really, really trained me.

They really need to rework tab targeting for the FPS mouse turning crowd that are never quite sure where their mouse pointer is.

So much game play frustration is fighting with limited melee targeting range and tab targeting as mobs are constantly flying in and out of range. Newer dungeons can send me into a frustrated “sorry team, need to take a break from this.”

Need a non cycling “Target closest in front of you PEROID,” and a “Cycle through interruptible targets.”

I used the CursorTrail addon to turn my cursor into a large magenta circle. Since there isn’t anything else in the game that’s magenta, it really stands out.

Haha, that’s the color I chose too! Much easier to see.
