Somehow I don’t think a new expansion is going to spare the forums from the endless critiques of how Blizzard messed up the story.
I never understood players that had hope in this sense. It’s like they don’t know Alleria at all? She even ignored Quel’Thalas orders and kept helping the Alliance - she prioritized the Alliance over her nation. What in the world made these players think she would not only leave the Alliance and come back to Quel’Thalas but also support the Horde?
If I had to give a guess, its because Alleria’s loyalty was to Quel’Thalas, not it’s rulers. She flipped off Anasterian to continue aiding the Alliance because she KNEW he was WRONG about the threat the Horde posed to the kingdom. She took matters into her own hands to protect Quel’Thalas and the Thalassian peoples.
That, and her story about learning how to use the Void was so much a purple colored version of what the belves went through, minus the magic addiction. In a lot of ways, Alleria has a belf’s set of morals when it comes to tapping into whatever power needed to defend what she loves.
Which is one of the many reasons why Lor’themar exiling the velves didn’t quite make sense. Sure, they posed a threat to the Sunwell, but why would the velves have had to be studying in the Sunwell Plateau? So much nonsense.
So much this… sigh
In an old video on Preach’s channel, Nobbel was asking him lore questions for fun since at the time he barely followed the story. He asks Preach who the three Windrunner sisters are.
He answers Sylvanas, and Alleria, then pauses like he completely can’t remember. Finally he says “Susan”.
Nobbel asked him about Susan Windrunner and he said “Well, she lives in Westfall–she likes the quiet life.”
It just really tickled me and to this day I think about Susan Windrunner, hanging out in Westfall x)
Sylvanas doesn’t consider herself an Elf anymore. She is Forsaken.
Is it treason to show mercy? Those without mercy end up receiving no mercy.
It’s only treason if he loses. There are two quotes appropriate to the subject:
“Treason doth never prosper, what’s the reason? For if it prospers, none dare call it treason.” – Sir John Harington
“You come at the king, you best not miss.” – Omar Little
Saying Lor’thremar gave the Alliance weapons because he sent the Void Elves packing to them is like saying I’m an arms dealer cause I sold my little cousin an airsoft gun. Pew Pew… but not really though.
What are you doing talking? Shouldn’t you be dancing on a mailbox to pay for your flight license?
So the belves gave the velves the same kind of, ‘mercy,’ their ancestors got from the nelves and which the belves seem to always be salty over?
Double Hypocrysy. “It’s treason to provide the enemy with weapons.” Hey Sunreavers. “Exile is merciful, unless it happens to us. Screw those night elves!”
Baine didn’t betray the Horde, he did what was in his characters nature, and what the Tauren represent
I’m very excited for your 35th post. Remember it’s harder today to come out conservative than it is gay. By your logic and people wanting peace on Earth 80% of Americans are treasonous traitors !
I think it has more to do with her loyalty to her own immediate family, as in her husband who is a human, and her son she had with him. Not so much that she felt loyalty to the Alliance, but that’s where her husband and child are.
That as well, though there is also her hatred of the Horde to consider. Alleria would never join the Horde. For love of Lirath, she would never join it.
But Sylvie is a girl…
Missing the point…
Can not wait for next one. i wonder what new gripe going to be?

Busting a known traitor out of prison while killing loyal soldiers is treason
Dying trolls wheezing in Orgrimmar, distributing warchief mantles is no basis for a system of government.
Baine didn’t betray the Horde, he stay true to the Horde. Lor’themar is also staying true to the Horde. Sylvanas betrayed the Horde, everyone siding with Sylvanas and her new scourge are betraying the Horde.

"Lok’tar ogar! Victory or death - it is these words that bind me to the Horde. For they are the most sacred and fundamental of truths to any warrior of the Horde.
I give my flesh and blood freely to the Warchief. I am the instrument of my Warchief’s desire. I am a weapon of my Warchief’s command.
From this moment until the end of days I live and die - For the Horde!"
