Interesting how the Old Gods didn’t have the Coloration they had when we fought them.
They all matched N’Zoth’s Coloration(Purple and Orange). Furthermore their Faceless all used Fire Magic!
I guess we now know how the Grand Imposter was able to use Fire Magic while playing the role of the Black Emperor!
If N’Zoth had truly gone all out he would have simply used the same Fire Attacks as the Black Emperor on top of his usual attacks.
So… Why do the Old Gods look different in those days? Did they get corrupted with 3 Separate Magics down the line just to bring them to those Cosmic Forces’ Realms?
Xal’atath makes a statement of how defeat constantly works in his favor. Now that we know that she is responsible it’s now clear that she secretly meant that it works in her favor.
Now what was N’Zoth building?
Considering Metzen states that The Last Titan will change all we know of the Titans with the Edicts of the Prime Designate in Uldaman indicating that the Titans took credit for the Works of others I assume N’Zoth built Uldum and it’s Forge of Re-Origination.
Now we need to figure out if the difference between Odyn’s Architecture and the Architecture of Archaedas(Tyrhold, Ulduar, the Heart Chamber, Un’Goro Crater and Sholazar Basin) is a coincidence or if Ulduar and the Heart Chamber were actually someone else’s work(imagine the irony if Yogg-Saron was assassinated only to be corrupted by the Nathrezim and had his Fortress included as part of Icecrown Citadel).
And finally the Arthas questline. There wasn’t much new here, but it’s a solid summary of the character.
The “new” content comes at the start: Arthas as Prince, inspecting the troops in the Lordaeron Garrison (the future Scarlet Monastery).
He talks with Uther - what if his duties as a Knight of the Silver Hand one day conflict with his duties as King? Uther says, “All you can do is look down the paths in front of you, and do your best to see what lies ahead.” Arthas is not impressed by this advice.
He talks with Jaina, and they have a cute conversation about how much pressure they are both under.
Everybody treats Arthas like he’s the best boy, and one of your attack abilities even says “You are the best. Let them know it.”
Then we fast-forward to a bit of the Culling of Stratholme (the Wrath dungeon), and the Wrath Alliance questline where you relive the decision to burn the ships and the moment where Arthas picked up Frostmourne. We see Arthas killing his father.
Cho refuses to comment on whether there was any way to save the people of Stratholme.
Then we briefly play as the Lich King, climbing the steps of Icecrown and killing the memories of Muradin, Uther, and Jaina, haunted by his father’s ghost.
Cho refuses to comment on whether Arthas ever completely vanished from inside the Lich King.
Then comes a solo version of all of Halls of Reflection (the Alliance version). That took some time to get through.
Finally, you play through the final Lich King raid fight, as the Lich King. Compared to the Illidan fight in Legion, it feels like it was thrown together very quickly, and it was very underwhelming. And the fight ended as soon as Terenas resurrected everyone, but maybe that’s a bug. (And before you ask, the enemies are generic “Mage” “Druid” “Death Knight” etc. All Horde, but I did this on a Horde character.)
Probably the right version to emphasize. Sylvanas’s interaction with Uther always reeked of placeholder; she should’ve met with a victim of Frostmourne she actually knew, like Anasterian. Or, in light of Shadowlands’ questionable revisions, herself.
I actually did this quest on a priest character from Legion, and it mostly reflected that. Cho even said, “Hey I know this was actually you, but a lot of this info is new to me, and until I get the chance to properly interview you I’m just going to refer to an anonymous High Priest.” I thought that was a nice touch.
I wonder what happens with priests that didn’t. My priest is originally from Wrath, but I didn’t play her during Legion. I did eventually pick up the holy artifact for her, but I never got the shadow one.
Basic summary of the events of Warcraft III and Burning Crusade before we revisit Quel’Thalas in Midnight, perhaps? It’s good to have a refresher available for players who either haven’t played that content at all or since it came out.
I would say you would just get the dialogue that other classes get. My guess is that the extra dialogue from Cho is tied to the completed quest ID’s for the shadow artifact acquisition questline. So if those are flagged as ‘false’, no dialogue. If they are flagged as ‘true’ then you get the dialogue. Similar to how Xal’atath whispers to you during the 11.0 max level campaign finale (just before you fight MC’ed Neferass) depending whether your character that has done the following
A priest that did both the shadow artifact chain and the BFA chain
A priest that did the artfiact chain but not the BFA chain
A non-priest class that did the BFA chain or a priest that only did the BFA chain
A non-priest class that did not do the BFA chain or a priest that did neither
