Loot tables are wrong for some mobs

Nice but you got very lucky, swamp jaguars most of the time dont drop anything at all currently in classic.

loot tables are wrong … in the game? Or on external sites? I was killing them two nights ago and picking up Long Soft Tail, was getting decent vendor trash from them.

It’s time like this I wish I’d kept all my old MobMap data.

It feels like all drops were nerfed as a undisclosed change to Vanilla.

this definitely isn’t just those mobs. lots of mobs i noticed arent dropping items at all. in Vanilla wow grey drops were almost always a thing from mob. for every 3 mobs drops u might get 1 without a drop at all. now its like 4 no drops and maybe 1 drop. mobs def nerfed it seems. I wonder if this is because of layer abuse and Blizz implemented this as a small way to fix it until layering is ended.

The loot tables aren’t really wrong, they have just been changed, to me it looks like Blizz took the nerf bat to beast loot, at least the skinnable beasts, I noticed this a few weeks ago.
But beasts over level 40ish seem to have better, more normal gray drops.

Probably has something to do with them using legion’s engine.
They had some attack speed calculations wrong too, wouldn’t be surprising at all since they bugged the thorium veins too

IDK. I don’t think that’s it, personally. Sometimes, drops happen. Sometimes, many mobs in a row have no loot (even if they did before or they stop dropping specific loot - elementals for example). I know at times “there is no loot” in Vanilla, but this is different.

I saw mages aoe leveling the other day. If i tried what they did by doing nothing but nova, coc, ae … id be oom and running for my life in vanilla. Something is up.

Pservers have skewed people’s perception of how much trash a mob should drop. On northdale beasts dropped much more trash than on the real classic servers. I’m gonna go with Blizzard’s numbers though and assume the pservers had it wrong

a lot of the guides written and youtube videos are from private servers… those servers were not 100% accurate…

You are better of visiting classic wowhead and looking up the mobs for their loot tables…

To be honest, from what I remember of vanilla, farming mobs for trash items and making gold was a lot harder than it is now… it seems to be a lot easier to make gold this time round… For e.i golden pearls were so hard to get in vanilla, you could farm for hours and not see one, but now I can get one golden pearl an hour on average…

Redwolf, you also have to remember that they changed drop rates on many mobs throughout vanilla to prevent exploiting them. Other times, they buffed drop rates on things to make them less rare, like your golden pearls.

This is 1.12, not 1.0 and people keep forgetting that it’s almost two years worth of changes to the game.
