Back in actual Vanilla we used ventrilo to communicate and the guild leader kept a spreadsheet of DKP or had an addon that did it. Its no different really.

If you dont use any addons or discord youre not gonna get too far, but you can still enjoy the game. Hop into a run and say you dont want a softres if you refuse to spend 2 minutes picking your items in a website. People will love you for that. People might hate you for not having DBM but if you know your stuff you dont really need it. Good luck!

Reserving or not is the perk of sticking around and maintaining relationships with other players. Imagine if I said “just run your own group with your own loot rules” the obvious response would be “I can’t”. But why? Oh because you treated a social game as something you could come and go from and now no one knows or trusts you? Go figure!
