based on your specs I’m guessing it’s a 1080p 60hz monitor
since you already have an AMD AM4 mobo, the cheapest route would be to get any X3D CPU your mobo supports be it 5600/5700/5800 there is even a OEM 5500X3D in some markets. GPU side for 1080p 60 hz refresh, RTX 5060 or better or AMD equivalent (check out Tom’s GPU hierarchy chart). 1080p high refresh or 1440p you would be looking at the RTX 5060ti (or better) or AMD equivalent.
Otherwise it’s a whole new platform for you, basically the AM5 socket unless you get a significant deal on Intel. AMD’s 7600 CPU is more than capable for a solid experience in WoW otherwise look for AMD’s X3D (7600X3D or better). You can check Tom’s CPU hierarchy chart to see more info there.
Something along the lines of the AMD 7600X3D, RTX 5070 (or AMD 9070 XT) and 32GB of RAM will run WoW no issues @ max settings, 1440p, high refresh and take you through some up coming expansions with no major issues. Plus you will have a CPU upgrade path with socket AM5, something intel currently lacks.
Thank you for the response, Lily. My PC was made by an ex’s brother’s friend like 8 years or so ago. I’m completely fine with doing a complete upgrade. I would say budget is around $2500 or less. Not trying to go crazy nor bare bones. Would like something that would be solid now and last.
more than capable CPU & GPU that will last you a long time in WoW. Realize those pre-built PCs will use basic mobos, RAM, and PSU but I understand the desire to just take the PC out of the box and start playing.
As for monitors, check out displayninja, they do a good job on reviews & recommendations based on budget, size, resolution, etc.,
Wow…I am discussing this with my IRL friend as well and he literally just mentioed the same thing as far as quality of parts on pre-builds. He suggest I at least pick my own parts and have someone build it.
get most of my CPUs from them. They have great prices on CPUs and also carry some hard to fine CPUs or get trays of OEM CPUs. They will also match amazon prices if you show them the listing which can add up since amazon will often have similar or better pricing on most hardware outside of CPUs.
