Looking to jump back into Classic with the SOM
I played Hum/Warrior the first time around. I’m sure there’s even more of them this time. Any suggestions on “sleeper” Classes that are very in demand? I’m also looking for a guild to join.
Not picky Ally / Horde - just looking for suggestions on class!
R Shams are always in demand. The meta has definitely shifted away from melee zug town with the way these fights are being changed so a ranged class like mage/lock is always a safe bet. Healing priests are always needed as well.

I know who you are; is this serious (probably not) - or just an elaborate, passive aggressive, condescending trolljob as usual?
They exist but there is no incentive for them to do any of the dungeons with pvp gear out. More of a failure on that end than the lack of warriors able to tank.

I’m on Vendorstrike rather than Jom, but I saw two of the more active guilds recruiting for Warrior tanks for their second/third raid teams last night.
One of the ads very specifically stated “full on DPS warriors and raid rouges.”
Bear Tanks viable at all after SOM changes? Could be fun
Similarly - quick dungeon q’s for Warrior Tanks? Not a PVP tryhard - so /shrug. Could be fun to roll around with a 5 stack.
Mage is probably hella popular still.

Yeah bears do fine and it’s good to have a variety of tanks up front instead of just warriors. Bears actually do better at some stuff. Just get stuck farming pummelers for the rest of your classic career. You will find a group as a warrior tank in dungeons faster than you can hit enter on LFG. There is a shortage of people that want to do that. However translating that to a raid spot as a tank is not easy as there are a metric ton of warriors in the mix right now in classic.
Any other suggestions?

It really depends on what you want and what’s fun for you. it sounds like you want to play a tank and if so then maybe just going to Shadowstrike is the play.
I rerolled healer as that seemed to be in high demand. I have no regrets because I like healing.
i’ve also had a couple of people tell me that I can have a raid spot or my mage (my first SoM char) if I want it, even though mages are really common. Anyway, mostly I’d say ranged DPS or healer but it’s more up to what will be fun for you.
