Looking For Long Term Role Play Partner(s) - Do Our Characters Align?

Greetings everyone.

I am seeking to make a friend or a few friends that would enjoy role playing together or even groups of people that would like to have an encounter or repeat encounters with. Although I enjoy role playing various characters of differing backgrounds and beliefs, there are two characters that I enjoy deeply and am currently developing as I settle them into the world of Azeroth. Below, I will list these two and their information. This will be a little lengthy.

Vandergrift Sette

A human hailing from the now abandoned Stromgarde territory of Rustberg Village, Vandergrift is a field medic and devout paladin of The Church of the Holy Light. After losing his home, life found some semblance of normalcy as his adventures and service led him to a small hamlet in passing. It would be here that he met a woman he immediately became smitten with. Eventually, the expecting couple parted ways, with Vandergrift returning him to an empty home, seldom for their newborn daughter swaddled in her cradle with a note. The parchment was a declaration of his love’s departure. To be a wife with a quiet life was never the path she longed for. Now alone, the young paladin raised his daughter with love unmatched.

Tragically, during a scourge invasion, he bore witness to his own daughter’s passing-a brutal mauling that he was powerless to prevent or cease. Now, a jaded, aged man, Vandergrift struggles with his faith and will to continue. He has little optimism and holds unrivaled bitterness, but has a soft spot for the innocent, especially children.

Possible Matchups For Our Characters

  1. Vandergrift’s wife that abandoned him and their daughter years ago.
  2. A fellow soldier or worker Vandergrift meets in his travels or during active duty.
  3. Someone that helps him find his faith again, and in turn become good friends or more.
  4. Perhaps there is a squire that is assigned to him.
  5. A person from Vandergrift’s past back when he lived in Rustberg Village.

I enjoy most themes when it comes to role play and would be open to a friendship or romance between our characters.

Marilka the Liar AKA “Spitz”

Marilka var Blod-Hund Redhurst, born of Dalaran nobility, is anything but the stereotypical wealthy, having forgone her manners in trade of blunt and snide remarks and a tongue of venom rather than silver. Growing up in Dalaran proved boring in her early childhood. Attending balls and watching adults sip wine and conjure biscuits out of thin air siphoned the joy out of her. Having no serious talent in magic, her parents insisted her entrance into a school for magically gifted Dalaranians with what was rumored to be a handsome sum of gold rather than a sparkling application to attend. As expected, Marilka struggled to keep up with her peers, but did manage to learn minor illusory magic and teleportation. Before finishing her time at the academy, she dropped out.

Now a disgrace to her family, Marilka took off on her own and began to dabble in trades in the black market beneath the city. She was never fond of petty thievery or even grand heists of art or items that belonged to people, but instead old tomes, unsavory reagents, trophies from monsters and jewelry looted from the corpses littering battlefields. They can’t use it now, right? During an evening of looting under moonlight, the disgraced sorceress witnessed a hedge mage reanimating the dead. Death magic was something the academy frowned upon greatly, as well as any mage that never sought a formal education. Untrained power could be their undoing or even Azeroth’s. She dispatched the rogue wizard and eventually took it upon herself to take up bounties on dangerous mages and necromancers. In her mind, disposing of potential dangers far outweighs the chance that no harm could arise at all. Now, having lost her home in recent events, Marilka seeks to find work akin to what she’s been doing.

Oh, and she’s a liar. That whole story could very well not be true, but according to her, it is. For all you know, she could just be a murderous thief that kills magic users for pleasure. I guess you’ll never really know.

Possible Matchups For Our Characters

  1. A fellow “mage hunter” meets Marilka and the two decide to carry out their hits together.
  2. Too many nights spent in taverns leads to Marilka meeting a bard where the two soon after begin to adventure together. She loves music.
  3. Rivals to friends/lovers where Marilka hunts down a rogue mage but the two bond instead.
  4. Someone from the criminal underworld takes her in and they form a positive relationship.
  5. Family member(s) reach out to Marilka and try to reconnect.

Thank you for taking the time to read if you did. I am generally flexible with storylines and ideas and would love to discuss encounters and potential friends and even rivals. The more connections the better. If you think that our characters would be a good match, feel free to let me know here or in game and we can figure something out. As far as availability goes, for now, I am online throughout the day at differing hours. I can be available very early or early evening to late night. I am unwillingly a night owl most nights and my time zone is Eastern Standard Time. While I do not mind skill, I would prefer someone that is capable of fluent responses that I can understand. Role play can remain inside of World of Warcraft or even carry over to Discord where my skill can actually shine.

Have a great day and I look forward to hearing from you.
