I just wish these companies that make gaming mouses would consider small hand women…most of the better gaming mouses my hand is too small to use them…I have hands the size of a 6 yr old kid…quite small for grown adult.
My wife has small hands and uses a wireless Logitech M325. It’s a no-frills (not a gaming) mouse, but she loves it. You’ll probably have trouble finding a poly-button gaming mouse that’s also for small hands.
“what kind of money are you willing to pay, it would make it easier to give options”
I’m not looking to spend more than 75 on a mouse.
A question about the g600 (since many have mentioned it) how big are the buttons on the side? They look small and I have the finger dexterity of a drunk gorilla, so my concern would be that I could never successfully push just 1 of them at a time.
Right now I am using a G300 its got a few buttons I can program and fits okay but can put a strain on my hand too long if farming for hours and hours…like I said I wish they consider about women with small hands and help us out…guess they figure Women don’t play World of Warcraft or any other games that using mouse a lot.
UtechSmart Venus Gaming Mouse RGB Wired, 16400 DPI High Precision Laser Programmable MMO Computer Gaming Mice [IGN’s Recommendation]
They’re $34 on Amazon. My wife and I have used them for a few years now. They’re FANTASTIC. Great quality. Better than any Logitech or Razer mice we’ve used. And their customer service is great.
HIGHLY recommend.
Similar question, how big are those side buttons really? Are they difficult to click with big unwieldy thumbs?
Looking through this recent thread may help?
They’re decently sized. Also have a nice design that helps with muscle memory, and helps from accidentally pushing a button that you don’t mean to press. I don’t think you’d be disappointed.
Just make sure, if you do get the mouse, that you install the drivers and get the desktop application to change the colors, sensitivity, etc. (Directions come in the box. It’s easy.)
Edit: Also, going through Amazon… if you don’t love it, it’ll probably be really simple to return. But I don’t believe you’ll want to. Great mouse for the price.
I’ve been using a Logitech G700, then G700s (same mouse, better optics, new paint job) for over 10 years. Best mouse I have ever used, bar none. It is definitely on the heavy side, so if you also play twitch shooters and the like I would avoid it.
It has 4 buttons under the thumb, 3 to the left of the index finger, and one more behind the hyperscroll switch, in addition to tiltwheel. Mouse 6-11 don’t work natively in WoW, so I rebound them to PgUp/PgDn/Insert/Delete/Home in the Logitech software, and I can then use them as regular keybinds in WoW. I have the tiltwheel as duplicates of M and I, so I can quickly open the map or check my bags without reaching to the other side of the keyboard with my hand resting on WASD.
Unfortunately it is no longer being made so they are super expensive on Amazon. I bought it for about $75, now I see them going for $200 or more pretty frequently.
Unfortunately the sensor on mine is on its way out, so I need to replace it eventually. I’m looking at the G604 Lightspeed as a likely replacement, possibly the Roccat Leadr. The 604 is essentially the same mouse, but has 6 buttons on the side and 2 on the top. It looks like it will actually be more comfortable, one I get used to the 6 button layout. The Leadr has 2 buttons and a 2-way paddle under the thumb, 2 buttons to the left of left click, and 2 buttons to the right of right click, plus a shift paddle on top of the thumb rest. It would definitely have more of a learning curve, and it is about twice as expensive, but if you could leverage the thumb rest button as a Shift or Control modifier, you could do some crazy things with in game macros without having to use the keyboard at all. Alternately, you could use it as a keybind-shift in the mouse software, and have the buttons themselves change.
I’d recommend the Logitech based on my history with their products, the build quality they have, and their excellent warranty support, but I’d be lying if I said the Roccat didn’t peak my interest.
My Steelseries Legendary Edition Warcraft mouse is starting to die on me after being almost 7 years old. I have to look to get a new one too
So… have you made a decision yet, @Cidniz?
Last time I checked, this was on sale for $40 ($20 off). As an FYI.
My mouse croaked recently (double clicking), so I spent some time looking at my options.
this.
they’re not that expensive either
I have a 6 buttons rival steelseries mouse.
Work pretty well for WoW and is very accurate and precise for drawing with Photoshop. The scroll wheel is also nice and robust.
I’m still using the Logitech G502 I bought to play Overwatch with a couple months after it came out.
I map the extra buttons to movement actions mostly. Middle click is mount, forward thumb button is auto-run, back thumb button is jump. One of the extra buttons on top I use for stealth and druid form.
Yeah… I’ve done raiding with a trackpad and a travel mouse before. Those were not terribly enjoyable experiences. You don’t need the $100 mice, but get something decent so that you don’t have to think about how you use the mouse.
There is an off-topic section for stuff like this off-topic from the game itself, rather this is a hardware question, not about Blizzard’s created content.
“content that requires a mouse right?”
Do you know what’s technically even required to play WoW? Eyes, a screen device, air so you can breath, food so you can continue to not pass away yet to play?
You’ll find plenty of rats on the arena forums, good luck OP!
They’re very hit or miss. Their button placement and angle is better I feel but the big issue is Razer has a big problem with their products having a tendency to just start malfunctioning. A common issue on the Naga is your right and left click after “extended use” (maybe like a few months to a year of use) your clicks will either not register, or they’ll double register, or they’ll randomly decide for you when your click is over. My friend used to have that problem, my Naga never gave me trouble, but it would drive him up the wall if he was strafing, his mouse would act up and not be rightclicking anymore and he’d just be spinning.
Overall, I’d say it’s a good mouse if you want to roll the dice since every company’s stuff breaks and usually a person tends to just be unlucky with a single company. A lot of people don’t use Razer just because of their bad luck and it is very much warranted I feel. Though I personally haven’t had this problem with them, but I have had it with Corsair numerous times and will never use a corsair product again.
I don’t think I could play this game anymore without an MMO mouse.
I use logitec g402. It’s fairly inexpensive and reliable. I have a g600, but the buttons are too small for my hand, so it’s gathering dust.
That corsair nightsword looks pretty darn good…
