Of course it was not a walk in the park, if you watch the world first yogg zero kill you will clearly see how big the skill gap is between back in the day and now, a top 3 guild at the time where most of their afflic locks did not snapshot ever was already a huge sign of the difference.
I think Ulduar is a good raid. Iâve definitely enjoyed it, and Iâm glad they released it âpre-nerfâ because it gave a sense of progression that only only a couple individual bosses have provided in previous Classic raids.
Iron Council and Vezax suck though. Like, really badly. Atrocious design for both.
Having the tank get hojâd before judgement, a melee stunned in a flamestrike.
Shadow fiends having 4x more health
Bloodboil hitting almost 25% harder.
Tell me you didnât raid BT in TBC without telling me you never raided BT in TBC
I was referring to the classic pre-nerf not being a walk in the park for most.
People still would have struggled progressing though the post nerf Ulduar version this time around. The skill gap differences are becoming less pronounced between now and the original raids.
Players started getting better at optimizing back then. Itâs slowly making less sense to do pre-nerf versions of raids as time moves forward.
RNG tank deaths donât make the fight harder, just more frustrating. You kill it every week the game doesnât decide to randomly wipe you.
Still not a major road block for the fight, nor is it the hard part of the fight.
Again, that just added RNG to the fight for who could survive it. It didnât make the tanks significantly more likely to die, just made you hope cloth players didnât get picked to be focused.
Fights shouldnât be hard in a way that can be gotten around by not having bad luck. Those nerfs didnât significantly change the fights, or your ability to progress. I did early BT back then. It was easy compared to tier 5. The few nerfs it got had nothing to do with it being easy compared to tier 5.
Ulduar isnât the best raid ever, but itâs easily the best of the expansion.
It had a prestigious optional final boss that only had one challenging difficulty.
The raid didnât consist of one dull theme throughout. Vezaks, hodir, and freya all had unique environments that gave the raid visual variety.
The hardmode loot was unique, and not simply the same normal mode loot with higher stats.
So youâve hated the entire game?
I liked vanilla, tbc, mop
I actually hate it quite a bit. Its what prompted me to take a break from wotlk and play classic era.
Having played up to this point I think my favorite raid is Sunwell. Ulduar is good but eh I donât know if itâs amazing, it feels like a longer SSC to me in terms of entertainment. I really donât enjoy running it multiple times per week.
Yeah quite a few raids released in later expansions are definitely better than Ulduar.
Exactly. Mechanics vs aesthetics or how they synergize.
I personally liked every classic raid cuz of the look and feel and their connection with dungeons. (BRD UBRS and MC and BWL) BRD set up MC and UBRS set up BWL, strat/scholo set up Naxx. AQ felt weird and gear was terrible looking.
â
I remember doing Uld and hating vehicles and how long it took to do and move through it. Boss fights were alright but I remember all the ICC dungeon and raids to be really engaging. Those kept my attention way more than Uld. (But ya I liked classic Naxx)
Yes I also like how the story ties more with certain of them. Itâs one of the my problem with DF. I just do not care about evoker lore xd
Its been alright, i wouldnt call it the best raid ever but a good one, the couple of fight that really drag the overall down are vezax and alg, vez because its a gimick fight that feels worse the more geared you are, sitting around for 2 minutes on your hands isnt a fun boss design. Alg has a 2 fold problem, 1: the visuals are awful, cosmic smash can be insainly hard to see with the constellations on you, also the void zones dont actually send you down, the portals (which arent even in the center) do, so you can be inthe center of the zone and not be sent down. 2: with the current tuning even 5k + gs tanks cant get rng gibbed 100 to 0 in under 1 second through cooldowns. The more frustrating of the 2 is the visuals personally.
Nobody was forcing anyone to no life ulduar. Just run it once and be done for the week.
Nobody is claiming they are or are not no lifing. Every person that has posted was able to understand and share thier thoughts compared to HOW MUCH THEY RAN EVERY OTHER RAID AS WELL. For you to imply that anyone is forming a negative opinion if ulduar based on because if the amount of time they spend running it is rediculous. I have been running naxx 8 times each week minimum lately in alts between 10 and 25. I run uld one 10 and one 25. And my opinion that totally counters your point is that i dont think i like naxx more, just that i dont think ulduar is anything special. And YES. It was hyped by players and blizz, as one of, if not the, best raid blizz ever made. That was the entire purpose of the ilevl increase, they wanted ppl to be able to continue to raid it when toc came out because it was soooo good but ppl woildnt waste time because the gear was irrelevent
So if you have an opinion then say it. If not, move on.
Best raid in Wrath by a mile⌠ICC is boring AF, and gets cleared so fast you will be surprised by it.
It offered hard modes that were justified in a more RPG kinda way rather than a stupid and boring âToggleâ the dumb crap on like literally everything that comes after.
The âToggleâ difficulty is dumb, and really has no place in WoW or any other RPG for that matter.
The raid itself was decent⌠Best ever??? No, but its one of the better raids Blizzard has made.
Whoa now there bub⌠Take a little chill pill and relax. Idgaf about your words of wisdom so you are wasting your time.

I will say whatever I please, whenever I please and to whomever I please. If you donât like it, that is fine. If it hurts your feelings, well I just donât care honestly. If what I say is random nonsense, oh well⌠Good luck on your little rant
While I donât think ICC is boring, not the height of engagement but not boring, you arenât wrong about how fast it will be cleared.
If they do not release it wing by wing as they did in OG wrath that place will be a loot pinata and cleared asap.
Yup, it will get cleared in the first night⌠=/
