Hey everyone,
I’m thinking about returning to WoW and figured this time I’d try finding the right guild before worrying too much about what character I’m going to play or how quickly I can gear up.
I’ve technically played WoW since launch, but there’s a pretty big asterisk next to that.
Between serving in the military, work, family, and just life in general, I’ve never really had the opportunity to stay with the game consistently. I’d play for a couple months, disappear for a year or two, come back, learn some of the new stuff, and eventually life would pull me away again.
So I’ve experienced a lot of WoW, but I’m not sure I’ve ever really understood WoW.
That’s what I’d like to change this time.
I’m looking for a guild that wouldn’t mind taking in someone who is experienced enough to know his way around Azeroth but humble enough to admit that there is a LOT I don’t know. I’d really like to learn the game properly—my class, gearing, professions, dungeons, Mythic+, raiding, addons, logs, builds, and all the little things veteran players seem to know that I’ve somehow missed over the years.
Eventually, I don’t just want to be the guy being helped. I want to understand the game well enough that I can actually contribute to the guild and help other people too. I’d love to have some kind of path where I can improve, start running content with everyone, and eventually become someone the guild can count on.
But the biggest thing I’m looking for is community.
I’m not interested in joining a guild with 500 characters where nobody knows each other and the only time Discord comes alive is 15 minutes before raid. I’d love to find a group where people actually know each other, hang out in Discord, joke around, play other games together, and sometimes just sit in voice chat shooting the wind even when they’re not playing WoW.
I’m an adult with a family and responsibilities, so I’m not looking for WoW to become a second job. At the same time, now that life finally gives me more opportunity to play consistently, I’d really like to see parts of the game I’ve never properly experienced and find a group of people to experience them with.
I’m not looking for a carry.
I’m looking for people willing to teach me how to carry my own weight—and hopefully a guild I can finally call home.
If your guild sounds like that, I’d genuinely love to talk.
