Long Load Times (Character Select)

Howdy!

I’m not seeing any known issues looking into this. In the Dxdiag’s provided so far this maybe related to having the game installed on a large HDD. I would recommend to try the following steps:

1) A complete User Interface Reset. Make sure not to reinstall any addons for right away till the rest of the steps are completed. This step includes disabling or temporarily uninstalling Trade Skill Master 4 or any other programs kept active while the game is running like Twitch app.

2) Place the system into Selective Startup. (Make sure to restart to get into this mode.)

3) Run a Defrag and scandisk on your HDD. If you are using an SDD check the manufacturer’s web site for any optimization software and firmware updates.

4) Double check your system is fully up to date. This includes the Operating System version, hardware and software drivers(Graphics, sound, chipset, and networking.) We offer help with this Here. You may also want to check your motherboard manufacturer’s web site which should have most of your drivers.

After all the steps above have been completed, retest by opening the game, switching characters and closing the game a few times. If the issue continues please post up your Dxdiag. Highlight the Dxdiag contents and select the code block icon </>. This will make it a lot faster and easier for us to review.

Please also clarify the following:
- Does the program ever say “Not Responding” then recovers during this issue?)
- Where exactly does this freeze or stall occur, when you press “Change Realm”, loading into the new realm, as you select the new character on the other realm or right as you get to the loading screen the bar just doesn’t move?
