Lol Blizzard last minute hotfix the highland drake raid mount

In retrospect it really was kind of strange that I could get the Raszageth skin from LFR.

I didn’t raid at all this tier, so I just killed Raszageth on LFR difficulty 30 or so times at the end of the saeson. Got it eventually!

It’s what you call a bait and switch, they got you to sub for the patch and the day before this goes live they “hotfix” a thing that has been on the PTR for how long. #boycott

When I said “earn”, I meant “become a mythic raider”.

The net result will be token purchases for carry sales.

It’s the 2nd tier of the expansion, which has historically had a mythic mount going back to at least warlords (Blackhand, Gul’dan, Jaina, Sylvanas, now Sarkareth)

And they could have kept the mount from the boss without yoinking the skin from everyone. Literally just do like they did with the Gladiator mount from Season 1. A seperate, more permanent unlock for mythic raiders and a customization available to everyone else. It would have harmed no one.

And i would argue it’s healthy for wow to be available on all difficulties as it incentives more people to do lfr as well.

This is also not a mount, this is a mount skin for an existing mount. It adds nothing to the collection total of mounts therefore this whole logic of “oh, Blizzard has been doing this for awhile.” is kinda not sound since we’re not getting mounts, we’re getting a skin.
On top of all that, Nighthold has two mounts that can drop, 1 is every difficulty, 1 is Mythic only, same with Battle of Dazar’alor, same with SoD.
This whole gimmick where Blizzard swaps this kind of stuff at the last minute hurts everyone except the Mythic Raiders and honestly, Mythic Raiders shouldn’t be the main focus for a pure mount skin from a raid. It’s insulting to every single player who raids and everyone who was excited to do the new raid to get the skin.

Still using the original mount/skin from the start of expansion. Oh, I did change the horns or something from that one starter quest at sky top observatory.

wonder how much that carry will be :worried:

Good job blizz! Now everyone would want to participate in your outdated Mythic raiding! /s

The only reasons i’m really against this

  1. You just upset people for no reason. But you really gain nothing by doing this. Unless the conspiracy theories about driving up token sales For carries hold some water… Why?

  2. You changed it at the last second… Again. Even if you don’t really care… You gotta admit, that’s kind of crappy, right?

  3. People aren’t going to suddenly become mythic raiders now… I’m not gonna say it’s zero but it’s going to be so low you might as well say no one. Those who are will remain sure. Pretty much has been the case since forever.

Once again blizzard shoots themselves in the foot when doing nothing wouldve upset no one.

I could see the Raz manuscript being the equivalent of a 1% mount drop that can be obtained on “all difficulties” but follows personal loot rules. Like G.M.O.D from BoD or Abyss Worm from ToS. While the one from Aberrus is the equivalent to a mythic only mount. Meaning it has a 100% drop chance when that respective expansion was current but only 1-2 people can get it each time and it is not personal loot bound. Will have to wait and see how it goes down when world first Sarkareth happens.

blizzard do the right thing and make this drop on every difficulties.

seems like spending art time on something thats going to be quite rare, that few will ever get and yet, no one will ever see come next expansion… just seems like a waste.

I do get it though. Honestly though if they want a mythic only special loot item it should be a mount like in the past. Not a dragon skin that becomes irrelevant and never-to-be-seen-again in a year and a bit
