Loks like Classic is already starting to go down

dude your trying to use logic with a person that cant even grasp the concept of anything that isn’t written in red crayon

youd might as well try getting a straight forward answer out of Watcher without him rambling on about other stuff in WoW for a half hour and in the end doesn’t even remotely apply to the question he was asked

I’m not going to stop using logic. It’s all we have as a society. Besides, at a certain point discussions like these are more for the bystanders than anything else. I think it’s pretty safe to say that someone who says something like this;

Is pretty much a lost cause.

Still, from time to time I actually do get enjoyment out of this.

A lot of the time the things the Chinese want censored out… aren’t even a real taboo/crime there, its just a power play to try and get a leg up on evil western companies.

Here is an old article if you are curious any.

oh of course after all in the right hands logic is like a scalpel and can actually benefit people

but sadly you have too many people like the OP that use logic like its a chainsaw and then proceed to try and carve the thanksgiving turkey with it

By China’s own rules They don’t want them playing on americas servers they have to play on the company that leases wow to china.

You would have thought with all this knowledge of Chinese you would realize blizzard can’t sell the game in that country without following their rules.

Although it appears your Chinese friends aren’t all that big on following rules even in the US, i.e. sounds like a lot of hacking is involved in the things they are doing.

when I see people post stuff like this it always proves the obvious they are either morons or flat out trolls with the subtlety of a rocket launcher

judging by your answer to his post is he already on classic?

im curious how the OP can be in classic when Blizzard hasn’t even launched it anywhere they’ve even said itll be a global launch which will go live world wide at the same exact time no matter the time zone they play in

You can log into the classic client to reserve names. They show the models when that happens. This directly contradicts what he is saying regarding classic on U.S. having the “censored” Chinese undead models.

You want to fight the Chinese government over a video game ?

Activsion isn’t going to give up their profits, they need their quarterly report.

yeah ive got names reserved but my point is the OP is trying to make it sound like hes already playing full time in classic when its not even live yet and wont be until next week

All of the above

Honestly though the bone censorship is a bit overboard. Blizzard totally bending over in the players expense for those china dollars with this one.

You must be Canadian or something because that sound nothing like my president.

Really? I guess after the Aussie morphine and German… robot… thing… I kinda took it for granted that governments were gonna slap weird requirements on things like that.

They also have to play on US servers to sell us gold.

At some point/possibly now as well, those were found out to mainly be prison slave labor.

You do realize that people playing here, on the US servers, have asked for that as an option for some time?

Pro tip:

There is no legal/other reason why in China the undead are censored (or bones become loaves of bread. )

What actually happened is this:

There is a known review/censor board, which CAN request changes like that.

The company that was doing Wow in China, decided to cut them off at the pass just in case. THEY, of their OWN FREE WILL, did the preemptive censoring.

The censor board may not have objected to the look of Wow at all, it was a case of the company doing the China version cutting to the chase, just in case it happened.

The9’s first estimate of The Burning Crusade 's debut in China was early 2007. Fearing disapproval from China’s Ministry of Culture, The9 made major changes to the Forsaken models, hiding exposed bones with flesh, as seen below.

Also, when a player died, they left behind a tombstone rather than a skeleton.

Legally-speaking, there’s a reason for that.

Confirmed?

It is people wanting to keep up with old superstition and dying traditions that make this sort of stuff happen. Like many time travel movies are greatly edited and oftentimes outright banned in some areas there. Its not all about legal. The majority does not want that stuff.

What exactly is this post about? I honestly can’t seem to figure it out, seems like complaining about the Chinese government’s censorship of literally everything, but what’s it actually about?

Yes exactly. I am saying that their censorship is trying to influence wow but is not succeeding. That there is a reason why the most dedicated Chinese players go to US servers to play as opposed to playing on servers made for them in China. The best servers in WoW US side have very few English speakers in the chats. Illidan is the most like this though.
