Because server upkeep isnât just turning it on and off again. They need to do a lot of things like clearing caches without losing any of your data.

No, Iâd actually be happier if it said âIt will be done when its doneâ, giving a time frame gives people expectations. Itâs like making a promise you know you cant keep. This has been happening for weeks now and its just getting old. Some people like to play, gives you 0 rights to tell them to go do something else, youâre you and theyâre them. Personally its my day off and I like to get stuff done today so I have time for other things through the week.

I think the biggest frustration with extended maintenance comes from no communication.
Why is it being extended? As far as I can tell there is no patch, no hotfixes being implemented, so whatâs the deal? If thereâs no patch and no hot fixes⌠what are they doing?

That alone would remedy a large amount of frustration for players. Under promising and over delivering is the tried and true way of making customers happy and feel respected.

If anything this should be evidence that itâs a complex ecosystem, and we donât want that garbage happening again, so let them take their day of maintenance.

I was a GM/RL from Vanilla thru MoP and we NEVER had these many prolonged maintenances. At best, a huge patch, raid would take this long BUT never, every other week. Again, Blizzard died the day they were sold to Activision!
