Live Needs a Remix-Like Gear Upgrade System

I don’t remember that well but didn’t new valor gear come out each patch? The old gear being outdated and new gear coming in seems logical to me.

I’m not sure I understand. Harder content should award better gear. You mean with the vault?

Respectfully, remix is way closer to a mobile game and more a point and click experience. It’s all great for an event but it wouldn’t make much sense for the main game.

I disagree with this entirely.

Which parts? Because bosses getting oneshot is definitly a thing on remix.

I agree with this, but I prefer the MoP Remix for experiencing older content, especially if you’ve played through the original stuff countless times on your 40th alt. It gives the content a fresh spin, lets you collect all the old gear, and even adds some new rewards. That’s just my take on it as a whole.

Yea I think it’s also a better experience for older content, which to be fair isn’t kept relevant so they might as well do something like this for it.

They wouldn’t. Each tier still has a top limit.

It would be cool if they started this with Vanilla, adding in stuff with Xal’atath, and allowed us to move a character from the Remix all the way up to retail. I would totally do this.

no, that would be bad.

I mean just an idea but they could have paragon levels for different expansions that work in that expansion. Maybe that wouldn’t be remix but I think there’s something they could probably do without remix. But else yea just keep making a remix for each expansion end I think that worked out well.

not 1-shot as in solo player cast 1 spell and destroyed the mythic raid boss.

1-shot meaning the raid group took down the boss without wiping.

Wiping does still happen.

Everyone that has been playing remix has seen it.

I played it early when not many people were op so it was still fun, once people started to become op bosses died in a couple seconds, even early on some bosses had a hard time to cast one mechanic. Yes you can still wipe if no one in your group is playing on a geared character, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t still oneshot them with the right amount of grind.

I mean you can but you’re wrong.

False, you can get plenty of epics from any of the heroic raids.

I’ve not seen much epics drop from heroics, rares yes, epics no.

Once I had a full set of epics I’m seeing them drop from open world mobs though.

Which raids you getting epics to drop from with a decent consistency?

I’ve got a small group of players that just started and it would be much faster to get them thru heroic than mythics at this point.

All of them, not that the occasional boss doesn’t drop 2 blues, more often than not I see 1 blue 1 epic, and frequently 2 epics.

Geared out multiple friends in epics running them through heroic mogu, hof, and toes 1-2 times.

as you can see, i’ve been running lots of all of them

Siege seemed to be the best place to get started cuz of all the bosses, and it can be done on all 3 difficulties everyday.

I’ll be on later and I’ll give it a try. Maybe something has changed with drops.

Mostly the epic weapons have been coming from M SoO and sometimes ToT.

I’d very nice if everyone could get a full set of maxed out epics in the time we have left in remix.

I would be down with this as long as we had the option to keep that character separate from others, just like it is currently. I would love to start from the beginning and progress my character through history. Starting from ground zero is appealing, but the only thing I don’t like about Remix is that hard-to-get mounts can be purchased with current currency, which I feel undermines the accomplishment of earning them the original way. I’m fine with the recolors, but the originals should remain exclusive.

I would love for them to do this with Xal’atath, having her appear in these Remix-style versions of the old stories. They could tie her involvement with the Infinite Dragonflight, spinning it as the reason they’re going back to observe from a distance, trying to figure out what she is up to. This approach could be applied to all the older expansions, creating a fresh and intriguing storyline that connects past and present.

I wouldn’t mind seeing this in a way where each upgrade requires exponentially more for the next upgrade, and the currency you get from harder content drops exponentially to keep up.

So you could just go do quests and continue upgrading your gear to bis but it would eventually take too long for that to be practical on its own.

Would be a fun experiment

I mean that the upgrade currency in live is similar to a mobile game in the way that there are multiple currencies required to upgrade an item and all of those currencies come from different activities / sources and frequently you end up with too much of one or another currency that is incredibly frustrating. Having just one currency that is available in different amounts from all activities and from breaking down unwanted gear, similar to how it is in Remix.

Of course we should not have a nearly infinitely upgradeable cloak like in Remix though.
