"Link AOTC for invite."

The number is not arbitrary. And i never claimed you could tell a person’s skill by the number. It tells you their experience.

The more experienced a person is, the more likely they will know what they are doing in the situation they are experienced in.

You can’t replace a person mid dungeon run.

Just because a person uses a tool wrong, doesn’t mean the tool is bad. It means people are bad.

And only people who have no clue what they are doing are fooled by a fake achieve.

I wouldn’t want to be in a run by a person that is fooled by a fake achieve.

I’m always shocked when people try to argue against this point and yet they keep trying.

I really don’t understand how people don’t get it.

use fake achievement addon hehehe I know a lot of people use that shows you have the achievement when you actually don’t and almost everyone is to lazy to actually open up the actually website and search your character.

Wow, you are quick to make very specific judgments without knowing very much. So let’s disabuse some things real quick. I do not pug raids. Period. I earn my AOTC week one with my raid team, do it on off-nights with them for a couple weeks, and then never set foot in heroic again unless I’m being well paid for it.

As I’ve eluded to in other posts, if I were going to pug, I would look at one thing and one thing only - logs. I’d rather people didn’t even link me AOTC - don’t worry, I’ll see it. If I were being overwhelmed with unqualified applicants, I suppose it would help me choose who to screen quicker. Can’t fake a log. Even if some or all of their encounters weren’t logged - can’t fake the kill counts in there.

YOU however specifically referenced killing of the bosses as not being an indicator of capability.

No? I’m going to see their full set up when I look at logs so…not a worry. Even if I did just take blind invites off AOTC linking, I mean FFS I can literally just look at HP to see how badly undergeared and unqualified they are. Plus if raid pugging is anything like M+ pugging, there’ll be others checking out every little detail and immediately griping if they think someone doesn’t meet their standards.

Even without seeing your main, I feel comfortable in saying I’ve probably sold more AOTC carries than you have, unless you’ve put together a small cadre of alts with all loot specs to maximize sale potential. You’ll have me then.

Oh my goodness you have issues.

Best option raid with a guild, there are a ton of guilds on server’s to pick from. Go on to wow progress and look for someone who raids in a time you have available. If you are going to stick with pugging them then you have to play by the pugs rules

I basically had my AOTC handed to me on a silver platter by joining a guild, it’s that easy.

Obviously do your part in the group and you’re guaranteed to get it.

I killed it in a pug before my guild did. Im a healer with a high IO and good gear so its much easier for me to get in a run.

Most of the time, when they say AOTC required, they are just wishful thinking. Just queue up anyway. If you have a high IL, chances are you will eventually get invited. Especially if they need a warrior buff.

New guy comes in asking for help

Community tells him to buy a carry

Endgame wow for a noob in a nutshell. You’re new? F*** you, basically.

New guy?
He is always on the forums whining about IO.
He has aotc’s dating back to 2015.
He just comes on the forums complaining about something new every week.

And our main answer is get into a guild.
Its 10 weeks into the tier. Of course people expect you to have experience at this point.

Are you speaking of normal or heroic pugs?

edit: There is absolutely no need to have aotc for normal. Although you may not down N’zoth.

I mean you are arguing that Method should have to carry a total n00b in their world first raid runs? I mean… why is their time more important than the n00b’s time?

Seriously, stop this argument. You want to run a raid, then organize and run it - otherwise accept you are joining someone else’s raid and they have their own requirements.

I’m not inviting you to my King’s Rest M15 either, unless you have relevant successful experience. I have been denied into M+ runs all day long where I have higher IO than the person forming it, but they want a carry. It is what it is.

I don’t like out of game stuff like various IO sites, mostly because of how unreasonable some people’s demands end up being when they are given access to things like it. Ilvl filters ingame are a lot less dumb, since they require the person demanding ‘better’ actually be just as good as they are demanding.

At the end of the day though, everyone’s time is valuable. No one is entitled to anyone else’s time, and this applies just as much to raiding groups who do NOT want to spend extra time teaching/helping new players on content that they’ve already progressed through. It sucks for new players, especially new players who don’t have the time to join a progression run and die twenty times for a single boss fight, but that’s the reality you have to live with.

Personally I’d rather see raiding be made entirely irrelevant, LFR for the story, and let suitably high M+ grant currency that can buy Mythic level gear out of raids. It solves a lot of the problems that raiding introduces, or at least lowers the barrier to entry to just having 4 people you want to work with, instead of requiring you get 19+ people together. Herding 19 cats was always the only difficult part of raiding, in any expansion, the content was never particularly difficult outside a few very specific encounters (And most of them still came to down to just being super punishing if a single cat out of 20 failed it’s idiot check).

  1. We aren’t talking about organized raiding teams. We are talking about pugs.

  2. I am doing fine without raider io or aotc. I get into raids no issue.

  3. I don’t even run mythic+ so…congratz? I only did mythic+like 4 times for the focusing iris…I got it and now i’m pretty much done. I don’t spend my days doing pve. I’m a world pvp player through thick and thin. I only do raiding when it has to do with story or i’m bored with the rest of the world.

Sure, that explains a lot right there.

If you do decide to do RBG runs, be sure to bring anyone, no matter their experience and skill level and see how you do

Answer is simple , ive been a pug raider before and you have 2 options:

Get it week 1-2
or
Q for groups that are fresh and work with them to clear it all

Im all for transparency , and there should be even more info on other players in-game. I see no reason why i should have to blindly pick the people i bring in my premades , this isnt a random Q nor LFR .

And you’d be suprise at how many Aotc groups you can get it if you have full cleared normal and have at least killed the bosses previous to the one you’re Q for…

Most good group dont even ask for AoTc , they simply check your logs and decide upon that .

Well we didnt have ilvl displays back when we were clearing Black Temple. You knew an item was good because there was less gear bloat and less usless trinkets/gear.

First of all, the OP is not a new guy.

The community also told him to join a guild.

Interestingly enough, OP who is “trying to get into raiding” is in a guild that is clearing mythic bosses.

I am well aware that your inexperience in the issue being discussed has slanted your viewpoint to a nearly irrelevant level.

What? My “inexperience” in mythic+ has nothing to do with me not doing mythic+. Mythic+ isn’t even a hard thing to accomplish. Literally anyone who runs these dungeons on normal can figure out what needs to be done since it’s literally the same dungeon with some extra mechanics and more health mobs. Judging people on raider io doesn’t change that the dungeon is literally the same as normal just more health and damage. The only difference in these dungeons besides the effects added is the speed at which you do them and that varies in every dungeon anyway because every tank is different.

It would be highly amusing to get a bunch of people who only did the dungen on normal them give them gear to the right level and put them in even a low key like an8 or something. That would be great comedy.
