Considering this Dev hasn’t responded to this thread in almost two weeks and hasn’t posted anything on Twitter… I’m gonna assume they embrace the chaos and just have pure hatred for everyone involved lol.
Living flame is now like 75% ally
Alliance will 100% be transferring off due to the recent Horde catering that will be implemented in final phase. Hey at least Horde still gets to fight itself in STV. You all have that to look forward too.
650ish posts of people who should roll PVE next time. Rose tinted goggles ya’ll. Wpvp was never good in any consistent way.
In my defense, I 100% knew it was dogwater, but I rolled PvP anyway to play with my friend that brought me back in the first place. Hadn’t played WoW in about 4-5 years until SoD, and now that friend doesn’t even play. RIP.
I have been there as well and it’s totally a bummer for sure to have a friend drop like that and leave you in a spot you don’t really wanna be in. I do hope the Xfers open up for people in your position and others.
Nothing wrong with changing ones mind.
It stinks because other than the PvP, I’m actually enjoying SoD.
I actually just started leveling a character on Wild Growth anyway, and it’s so much better. Hopefully they let us move our other characters, or mine will just be sitting dead on a PvP server lol.
I’m on Wild Growth and I really like it there. Layers can be weird sometimes but its usually fine.
I was tempted to roll PVP as I figured all these new abilities would be hilarious to use, but I underestimated that factor and I am glad I main PVE realms now.
Hope you can rescue your PVP realm toon soon.
TBH, I think it’s the layers that are really screwing it up. It’s one thing when both sides are participating in sporadic PvP encounters, but it’s another thing completely when each layer is just one faction or the other rolling around in raids camping questgivers, dungeon entrances, etc.
Faction-balanced servers mean absolutely nothing when every layer is imbalanced 10:1.
Reopen these xfers plz
They said they’d be balancing servers. However they did nothing with layer stacking so the experience was terrible either way.
And I’ve seen more griefing this time around than in 2019 when I originally joined the PVP servers, and yes that even includes P2 PVP.
Either way, they opened PVE servers so people could get off them, and only had them open for a few hours each time. Now entire guilds and friend groups are split up.
Layers are self deleting and generating, they are also better than not having them the majority of the time. The servers are more balanced than they would have been without the changes in place for SoD. It’s an odd spot for sure.
PVP happened on a PVP server. Been in this game since 2006, PVP realms attract cancerous players that bother those who want the ideal of Wpvp but not the reality.
And next time will you roll PVP or PVE?
Are there any more transfer windows anticipated? I held off when this was first announced because I was in a guild group, but that just fell apart today. I’d rather not reinvest time creating and leveling characters even with the very recent boost in exp.
Please open this back up.
I didn’t move my 2 raiding characters during the week so I wouldn’t screw my weekend raid teams. Now half my account and character wealth is on Wild Growth, and the characters I actually wanna play are stuck on Lone Wolf.
I’ve been checking back everyday for over a week, and nothing. I haven’t even logged on because it’s unplayable. For every 20 minutes spent out in the world being productive, there’s another 20-30 of corpse running and getting camped and griefed.
They’re gonna roll PvP and be shocked when they get ganked.
This is why we can’t have nice things.
PVP realms are a fun aside, but PVP players are their own worst enemy sometimes. (the vocal ones who should have rolled PVE I mean)
Excuse for sadism.
That’s some good hyperbole, can I have some more?
You being killed on a PVP realm is not an example of sadism, you’re just overblowing a mild annoyance.
I like the downplay. It is what it is. People camping others is them deriving pleasure from the suffering from others. Textbook sadism.
That is the reason people grief. Does everyone do it? No. But excusing it with “PVP happened on a PVP server” is completely disingenuous to what some people actually do with their time in this game. It only takes a few bad apples to sour peoples experiences.
It’s also making excuses for why we can’t have better systems that limit griefing, but let natural PVP flourish. PVP is not well implemented in this game, and there are many examples of games with better PVP. We should be learning from them, not making childish arguments as to why we should be letting people grief just because it’s a PVP server.
Still hyperbole, you are not being hurt in any real way, and if you are you have other underlying issues besides being annoyed someone ganked you. No shade, just how I see it.
It’s not excusing it, it’s saying what happened. You got PVP’d and are annoyed by it despite choosing that prior to character creation, this game is old, you should have known what “World PVP” means to WoW players.
I support Warmode being the default PVP experience for the open world so try again.
Until it annoys you, got it. You are experiencing what constitutes “natural” pvp in SoD right now. Always has been.
Nobody should ever play WoW for PVP. Outside of one expansion it’s been a side game and a joke in terms of balance.
It’s not a childish argument, it’s what happened and was always going to happen. Reroll PVP next time or don’t complain.
