It was at the end of WoD, although they tried to take away the old “Role” forums in MoP but we’re met with so much resistance that they couldn’t do it it til end of WoD.
I still fondly remember the healing forums.
I probably missed the change because I literally quit right before Legion(after sitting thru Garrison). It feels like I missed most of the good xpacs. Well, half of MoP and all of Legion. At least I got the earliest 4…
Anyways…
As crazy as that sounds, I believe it because I just found out recently that people will actually alt-log to respond to there own threads to like try and make an appearance of winning a usually fundamentally flawed argument or position by literally talking to themselves.
Someone explained how to compare certain achievements and has been pointing them out to me…this is absolutely mind boggling.
I guess, I just came from a different time…
And how much bravada and lack of shame the newer ones try to pop off with about buying Carryies.
I dunno. I need a confetti button for when my likes run out though. Or the “Rad” button like on FB.

Thanks! I try to use my TL3 powers for good instead of evil.
But so far all I’ve covered is ‘morally gray.’
Must take awhile to get TL3?
It took me a couple months, I think. In fact I might have been TL3 for a while before I noticed I was.

There’s a weird intersection between length of time and how active you are on the forum during that time. I actually lost my TL3 when Shadowlands launched because I stopped posting for like 3 weeks, and for whatever reason it took me north of 6 months just to get it back.
I can’t pretend to know how this weird math works. I have it now and I try to post as often as I can with it. All I can do 
Thats actually pretty stupid losing your status for being inactive for 3 weeks. And having to spend 6 months getting it back.
If you got TL3 you should be able to keep it unless you make some folks mad on the forums and get a suspension.
Makes the forum grind kinda unpleasent.

The service that Blizzard chose to use to make their forums was a really bad choice. No forum that needs a subscription just to post should need a trust level just to post images lol
Really should just be if your account is 30 days old you can post whatever.
No limit on likes, no limit on report flags, but silence people who abuse it if it’s a problem.
Until then, you gotta EARN these likes!
My account is close to however old WoW is right now. But I’ll agree I shouldn’t be TL3 cause I don’t use the forums that much to get TL3 status. And I really don’t care that much to farm for it when i’m leaving the game for another game maybe for good. We will have to see what 10.0 brings.
It’s to stop someone from going through someone’s post history and spam liking every single one of their posts.
It happened quite often on the old forums.
It’s not a matter of them not wanting you to like posts, it’s the matter of them not wanting someone else to get spammed with hundreds of notifications.
Stop being so casual with your likes. Should save them for truly special posts
everyday you wake up a new person with a new capacity for liking things all over again.

I’m pretty active on here and never even knew that likes were time-gated once you’ve reached a certain amount.

There’s not enough collective mental acuity to warrant updoots most the time.
It is true. I’ve heard people in threads talking about “grinding out trust level four” on different characters so they can link things into threads! Like it some kind of goal in life.
It’s madness, it’s like make an account and don’t me a complete cobnobbler and it just kinda happens over time.
Having mentioned it now though, perhaps it’s a result of this new crowd of angsty hateful people that simply don’t know how to be decent so it’s now become a goal of there to “grind” hard to be decent enough to not get banned or muted lol.
