I’m not here to talk about balance. Idk her.
But Lightsmith is probably the closest thing to my class fantasy I’ve ever found in an rpg. Seriously, like 10yo me drawing Forge Domain Clerics from DnD had no idea I’d have this one day.
But with that said: please keep iterating on these visuals. Y’all say you’re all about class fantasy, but “10% yellower” isn’t fulfilling that fantasy.
When someone has a sacred weapon, I want to actually see a shimmering weapon constructed out of light, floating near them, swiping. When I cast Holy Bulwark, I want to see a huge light constructed shield in front of them, and when it expires it explodes into shards.
When I cast either of those spells, why not hold my hand out and an anvil of pure light appears with a hammer that slams into it, with a “BOONNGGG” for the shield, or a “SHHINNGG” for the sword.
In a raid, with my armaments and lesser armaments, omg, I want to SEE THEM. I want to FEEL like i’m equipping my friends / party with holy armaments.
I think most of yar decisions is made by the spreadsheet executive man with the Buick Ballpoint Pen 3000.
But SOMEONE on your team came up with this amazing class identity. SOMEONE on your team is like 10yo me with a favorite crayon.
Please let the man with the crayon make more decisions. If they’re in the room and they’re like “BUT WHAT IF THE BULWARK EXPLODED INTO HOLY BUTTERFLIES THAT ZOOM AROUND…” just let him cook.
Edit: Oh, and obligatory “Please give us a holy spender that isn’t Shield of the Righteous, and/or change our loot pool.” As is Tradition.
