Now you done it. NB4
But i like the pandas People say they were asked since Vanilla
Not about accepting. I never said they wouldnt. You said undead work for the alliance. Ebon Hold is neutral.
I hope so.
I miss the simple days.
Light Good, Shadow bad, Resto Shamans had actual spirit magic and didn’t just throw buckets of water on people.
Yeah but they are a race that started as an April Fool’s joke that made it into the game.
I’m only here to argue the validity in Alliance accepting Lightforge.
Nothing else to say here. And yes, Ebon Hold has worked with the Alliance.
its a stupid idea and it needs to die.
It’s been some time since I’ve read the source material. If creating one was overwhelming, I doubt it would just be handed out. I’ve been somewhat dismayed for the Forsaken. The attempts to purify/redeem the Forsaken in vanilla has gained no traction. Plague creation has gone waaaaaaaaay up, though. I just think greater strides could be made (especially with Naaru, Lightforged Draenei involvement along with the two case studies - Calia Menethil and Lothraxion. Maybe Locus-Walker could provide insight as well.
Highborne, according to https://worldofwarcraft.fandom.com/et/wiki/Highborne#cite_note-WRPG45-9 on pages 45 and 57, “ Night elves foreswore the use of arcane magic centuries before and even built up great resistance against it. They could master arcane power, although doing so would mark them forever. Once a night elf learned to use arcane spellcasting, he or she may suffer some change of skin coloration or possibly change in the color of the glow of their eyes. The complete change often occurred within the space of a week and could not be reversed once it began,[10] but physical attributes do not change.[11].” I’m unable to verify this as I don’t own the book. I remembered arcane magic being mentioned as changing Night Elves who continued to practice it. Again, not sure if retconned or what.
We’re getting there though that’s the weird thing – Blizzard has already invested so much time and effort into introducing light infused forsaken as an allied race that to backtrack would be silly at best.
Lightbound undead is literally in their own lore and a pretty big hope among Alliance players. It better not just be an April fools joke.
It’s just them writing themselves out of the corner with Calia Menethil. Which is a corner they shouldn’t have to write themselves out of but they’re doing it.
Gotta love those alliance. Blizzard create one lightforged undead and alliance expect to have them since they want a horde model (again) to the point that they would find it silly to not have them… And they wonder why they never like their allied race??? Maybe stop asking for horde model would help.
Still waiting on my playable lightbound ogre paladin, Blizz.
Make sure the casting animation is just the current ogre /dance please.
You have high taste, my man.

I don’t want them and Calia is obviously setup to take Sylvannis place as leader of the forsaken when we gank her.
Not even sure what that website is. And definitely not current lore. I’ll have to look that up to see where it even came from originally.
Canon lore states:
Some Highborne still exist in their original forms. One such group, known as the Shen’dralar, live in secrecy within their city of Eldre’Thalas — known as Dire Maul to outsiders.
Those are the Highborne that joined back up with the Nelfs in Cata.
I’ll do some digging and see what I can find out about what you posted.
I seriously doubt we are going to see Lightforged Forsaken any time soon. Try and remember that the effort to create just a single one required 2 very powerful light side wielders channeling the power of a Naaru. I doubt the three of them are going to be booking long weekends doing this on a regular basis. More likely Calia is a plot device for a future Forsaken story line.
At the end of the day being undead is a cursed existence that marks you as something to be killed on sight by most other races and per Sylvanas’ story locks you out of any kind of afterlife.
No benevolent force should be creating zombies of any kind. If Anduin et al couldn’t raise Calia back to life, then they should have left her in the afterlife.
Holy curses are still curses.
Most of us alliance folks were ecstatic to see lightbound undead. It made lore sense, they looked great.
no.
Lore dictates light harms undead. (look at what happened to a certain DK who tried to take a certain paladins body)
Light shouldnt be lore wise able to raise an undead as the light would purify it…not revive it.
Its just more lore retcon by the blizz.
Listen, I enjoy blizzard April fools jokes. But let’s be honest. Most of us alliance folks were ecstatic to see lightbound undead.
No. No we do not.
I personally think it’s a horrid concept akin to Mag’har orcs being on the Alliance.

It’s also available via WoWWiki (https://wowwiki.fandom.com/wiki/Highborne). It looks like it may no longer be canon (https://wowwiki.fandom.com/wiki/Warcraft_RPG#De-canonized). I’ve played for an awfully long time - I sometimes lose track of what is updated and what isn’t updated haha.
At the time, it was considered official! http://blue.cardplace.com/cache/wow-general/6335034.htm
It’s hard to find extant and comprehensive records for a lot of this stuff. I have a striking feeling Caydiem, who loved lore at the time, could have discussed the very topic of NE Mages, but… The trackers I’ve found aren’t great.
This was retconned back in Cata - all the Light does to Undead is cause a painful sensation as well as restores senses to their bodies so that they are painfully aware of their own decay.
I’d imagine a Lightbound Undead are either in endless agony, or that little tidbit doesn’t apply to them because they were reanimated differently.
Though…I long for simpler times where Light (Positive) energy hurt the dead but healed the living and Shadow (Negative) energy did the opposite.
