Life After War

For around 99% of my characters, there is no end to the war until the Horde is wiped off Azeroth; most of them even recognize that the Alliance is weak, morally speaking, and will make peace and let more civilians be butchered when the Horde, inevitably, burns down another civilian population center.

After Teldrassil, it’s been proven that there is absolutely no saving the Horde. They’ve had every chance to chill out, and they keep on the genocidal war path, by refusing to stand up to tyrants and madmen/madwomen, or at least that’s how most Alliance ‘regulars’ would be seeing it ICly.

A spike for each member of the Horde… upon which they’ll be impaled.

Though not actively involved Liming-nu has been observing the conflict. By its end, whatever the result, she will likely focus on the completion of…the device.

All for the good of Pandaria.

Just gonna say it. I would say Zandalari RPers would be justified to use the same approach quite a few Alliance players are making.

Also so many Killmonger type characters in a setting with WoW Wakanda… would be a shame if the same fate were met.

Of course they’re justified; because the Alliance went deliberately out of their way to burn an entire city full of civilians (children included) to the ground for no reason than to spite them, yeah?

The Zandalari chose not to boot the Horde out the day they arrived, and thusly justified everything that has come their way, and will come in the future; every last kick to the teeth.

The crummy reality is that every race has a reason to hate the others, and to want them dead; Blizzard has done a wonderful job of stoking hatred and an inability to let old hatreds die, and yet elects to ignore that when it satisfies their story.

Don’t bother, man. This will only end in pain and tears.

Some troll, in some distant jungle, screams “Tears for the tear god!”

Altielle is terrified of the war ending. She was recruited as a warlock in the Horde’s military, and due to her advertisement of her “not caring” she has been assigned horrible tasks that border on war crimes. She knows they’re bad and feels terrible deep down. All she can do now is hide it and hope nothing forces it to surface.

If the war ends with a Horde defeat, she’s fully aware she will pay for her crimes. Facing either execution or a life in prison, she’d do exactly what she’s done before after the Legion was defeated at the Nighthold: Run. Live another day.

Where to is beyond her. She’s wanted in Suramar, assuming it too still stands by the end of this. The Alliance will be looking for Horde criminals all over Kalimdor. She might try to hide out in Silvermoon if it survives better. If not, Northrend is a good bet. She’s noticed a stirring with the cosmic force of Death, so perhaps it might be prudent to keep an eye on the Scourge.

On the other hand, Altielle has plans for a Horde victory. She’s positioning herself specifically to be able to flip to either the rebels or Sylvanas when the time comes, depending on who might win. She already served the wrong side in an uprising. She won’t do that again.

Whichever side wins, she’ll go back to what she’s been doing for the last year and continue her research into medicinal uses for fel magic, all the while accumulating power to ensure her eternal survival.

Zhii would try to ease tensions between the Horde and the Alliance by working his way up to become a diplomat with the goal of eventually helping in joining the two factions as one.

Lahil (my Kul’Tiran Human) would go to what’s left of his home and wait for the Horde to attack again.

Chill on the Vindicaar away from Azerothian problems and enjoy the temporary respite.

Kinildra will likely continue to aid her lord and his apprentice in fostering division among the peoples of both factions. In their view the political climate has long been ripe for internal schism, so all they require is pressure and time.

My Mag’har is going to be very, very, very irritable. Growing up in Tanaan, things aren’t really “Peaceful”. If things are peaceful, that means you’re going to be ambushed or you’re being watched. He’s going to be very on edge.

As far as Gazz goes… Eh. Probably scrape up as much Azerite as he can for his shredder upgrades.

Fal’therin hopes for peace, even if it has to come through war. As context, he only started studying the void because he thought it could be used to help make the Rangers of Quel’thalas more relevant. He believed the Blood Knights are taking the splotlight as the Thalassian nobility, and he kinda wanted to put a stop to that. He never wanted to betray Quel’thalas or the Horde - he saw himself as a visionary, like Kael’thas, playing with some dangerous powers to advance his people’s cause overall.

Of course, he did get exiled. Found himself voided and in the mercies of the Alliance, who he’s been wary of since Garithos. Which, unfortunately for him, meant that he left his wife behind.

He doesn’t hate the Horde, and he doesn’t love the Alliance. But he’s a political realist. At the moment, the Alliance is the stabler of the two governments, and the only power able to give him what he now wants - the unification of Quel’thalas. A place for ALL Thalassian elves to call home.

So in an ideal world of peace? Quel’thalas will be united. All elves will be able to live there. And Fal’therin will be able to be with his wife again.

For Eirdwen, her war will probably never be over. She knows this, but she still dreams of a day when Lordaeron is clean and resettled by Light-loving humans, dwarves, and elves. Her war will end when the Undead and other assorted “evil creatures” have been driven from Lordaeron completely. She has no real interest in the faction conflict outside of “oh good, the Alliance is helping. FINALLY.”
If she ever gets her wish of a restored Lordaeron, she’ll settle in to domestic life with her husband and child(ren). Eerie’s ready to be a proper noblewoman and raise her spawn as faithful little soldiers.

Given that Void Elves anywhere near the Sunwell can cause a near expansion worthy crisis… I get the feeling if you want all elves united and living in Quel’thalas, Void Elves will need to stop being considered elves… yeaaah…

Fake news :stuck_out_tongue:

Alleria, the most powerful of all void elves, didn’t cause any problems until she literally touched the Sunwell’s water.

I think void elves would be okay in Silvermoon City. Just keep them off Quel’Danas.

This is true… though I still say that was a really bad first impression and the words ‘Safe over sorry’ when it comes to ungoldly cosmic horrors will come into play for that.

Did genuinely feel bad that crap ended up going do since Alleria genuinely had no intention of it and got shafted by the void there, but it’s fully understandable the Belves are likely far more keen on taking the safer over sorrier route in this one.

True enough. Lor’themar and Rommath would never really be okay with the idea I suspect. But that’s assuming that Quel’thalas is not occupied by the Alliance. :stuck_out_tongue:

It’s purely speculative though, this thread. To be honest, we don’t even know if the war will end after bfa. It may be continuous like the Cata-MoP war. We can only really speculate about a wide range of possibilities, until we actually know the circumstances of how it’ll end.

Just destroy the sunwell again and have all the blood elves eat the magic addiction fruit that the nightborne ate, easy peasy

Wouldn’t it make more sense to have them eat the fruit first, then just leave the Sunwell there as a sort of national monument for tourist revenue? (just not void elf tourists. Only people can be tourists)
