With the exception of Anduin and Wrathion, WoW doesn’t have “teenage” models for younger characters. Even Anduin just used the standard human model, just sized down. Wrathion had a unique model. In WoW, there’s no progression of age. You’re either a child or an adult. I think they should add more age appropriate models and incorporate those into player character choices, but the weirdos will make ghastly fan-fiction with them, which is probably why they don’t do it.
Those are admittedly good points. I think MoP Anduin felt like a teenager; I’m certainly not suggesting they need an entirely new skeleton or anything, but for Li-Li as an example (and maybe even Nomi, our cooking apprentice in MoP who reappeared in… Legion, I think? as an adult), it might be nice to not make them completely unrecognizable.
As someone else suggested, simply scaling the size down a bit would probably be a find solution for less important NPC’s (like Nomi), but I feel like Li-Li is just important enough, I think she kind of warrants a new model if we’re expecting to see her again. I suppose it’s no biggie if she’s just appearing for a split second as a cameo like a background NPC, but if we’re going to spend even a single quest alongside her, it just feels super jarring.
And… yeah, it feels weird to basically have the game I’ve been playing since I was a kid effectively telling me that I’m “old” now.
I think she looks great!
I’m more concerned that I hope it’s still the same VA, who was actually in Futurama! Amy Wong
She’s a panda
Not exactly known for being thin.
Also, MoP was over 12 years ago, she’d be in her 20s now.
What do you mean thinner? Have you seen a thin Pandaren before? Thats their normal body weight.
Well there’s no way to link images here, but it’s just a pretty radical shift to go from “small child” to “full-grown adult”, particularly all at once.
It would be like seeing Tommy Joe Stonefield show back up as an old man.
Like I said, I feel like operating on a strict timeline isn’t the best thing for an MMO anyways, and there’s enough time passing that it’s starting to feel very awkward.
