Example. I didnāt peek my head in the lgbtq community for a long time due to well reasons,felt icky being homeless for a long time and still trying to connect with community. I had to ask around and look up all the new letters a few years ago, I was so lost .
Oh Iāll explain. It started as a pilot and before the pilot was finished, it had quite a small but healthy fanbase. Once the pilot arrived it freaking exploded in views. So that attention allowed the creator to get her foot in the door basically and get a tv show. Its the same folks that work on Helluva Boss. Same universe, diff set of characters and plot.
Something I always found funny is a character in the pilot is voiced by the same guy that voiced The Jailer. Ed Bosco. His character has a different va for the show since hey, studio funding. You kinda have to play with certain rules for voice actors
I forgot to explain the plot. The pilot explains the basics but since its for mature audiences, I canāt really share it.
Basically every new years in hell, angels go to hell for the day to wipe out any sinner they can find. Since hell is having a population problem. ( Sinners basically respawn unless killed by angelic weaponry )
Charlie, the girl with the clown markings on her face, is Luciferās daughter. I have to mention Lucifer specifically because in this story, Lucifer and Satan are two different folks. Sheās of course half angel and believes that rehabilitating a sinner to get them into heaven is possible. A nice way to avoid having her people slaughtered as Princess of Hell. ( a title almost nobody in hell cares about lol )
So she opens up a hotel in the hopes that sinners ācheck outā as they go to heaven.
Also a lot of the characters are lgbt so there is that. ( No they didnāt go to hell because of it, hell doesnāt work like that in this story )

Okay coming back here to go more into detail. Its mostly voice actor unions and stuff. This is why Richard Horvitz canāt be in Hazbin Hotel but he can be in Helluva Boss.
THANKFULLY A24 rarely or dang near never gets in the way of the creative process. So IF any changes happen, theyāre pretty mild ones. The only other changes Iām aware of are these
1: Slightly tweaked character designs so theyāre not a big hassle to draw. Less lines n stuff
2: Charlieās name used to be Charlie Magne, it got changed to Charlie Morningstar and some of her design was changed like her eyes.
So yeah. Really mild changes.
