It wasn’t. It was intended to have more people using the content. Without that it would have been pointless to spend so much resources creating content that only a small percentage would ever use.
There was never any effort made to put any learning component into LFR. In fact, despite the fact that you think everyone who steps into LFR should just organically pick up what’s going on and how they should be responding, the reality is that LFR is a raid with no provision for a raid leader. That wasn’t an accident.
I’ve explained multiple times why “just do normal raid” isn’t as easy as people think it is.
Yes, once you’ve gotten into a normal raid, if you’ve watched a YT video on the mechanics and read up as a refresher before each fight: it isn’t particularly difficult.
The problem is when you sit and study some stupid raid video on YouTube, only to get declined, expired, and delisted for an hour straight in LFG.
The crying and raging of slime cat LFR beggers is even funnier. Shows who makes an effort in life and who doesn’t.
neigh, LFR is an entry point into real raiding by showing the most basic and “baby sized digestable” mechanics while not making it overcomplicated. If LFR = baby, then normal = teenager who mows lawns or has a basic job, heroic = working adult, and mythic = adult in prime years at the peak. Basically working your way up the ladder in life.
And people have the right to disagree with you if they disagree.
And right now, you just said some pretty disagreeable things so…
Well when somebody unironically thinks “AFK” means not pushing a button for just 1 - 2 seconds or whatever they mean to basically mean “doing something i dislike”, that’s pretty much the idea right there: To troll, anger, bullchap people or worse, trying to control people. It’s pretty much the reason(s) why half of the “healer must DPS in those 2-1 seconds or else their AFK” arguments are the way they are in those threads.
I did Normal Nathria with my guild tonight. I will likely do the other 2 in the coming weeks. However, I will not stop fighting for LFR Slime Cat, even if I get it from Normal. Because again, it’s never been about a Normal Reward. It’s about the principle of the mount being advertised, intentionally or not, as being an LFR reward for 3 months.
Em, OP isn’t entirely wrong. The fact that it gets buried and some people just call it “insults” w/o providing any arguments whatsoever, or even worse, just want him silenced for no valid reason shows the sad state of the “community”.
I agree with you, I also think that this is a video game where everyone should have fun and enjoy themselves. Outside the hardest content in this game why does it matter if everyone has cool mounts. Why does it matter if everyone has awesome looking gear? If its rewarding challenge, the only reason people want challenge is to get that hit of dopamine that they did it, they don’t need a cool mount to show off to feel better about themselves.
But alas the majority don’t feel that way, they feel better about themselves when they can gloat and flaunt their victory rewards in front of others who don’t have them. And taking that away makes them unable to feel better about others while bringing others down. And if Blizzard had a soul / heart at all they would be finding ways of removing such evil people from their games but alas Blizzard is as heartless as the playerbase they attract with FOMO and 1% catering.
Calling LFR afk story mode belittles and insults the players who use LFR as their endgame.
It’s an insult. Literally plain as day.
Then goes on to say they need to “encourage” us to go into normal. No. How would raiders like it if they moved AotC mount to mythic and LFR players came in saying “Oh, they just have to encourage you to do mythic, cause heroic isn’t a real setting.”
Blizz isn’t going to cave on the cat, you’re just trying to pick a fight with someone by rubbing salt in the wound that Blizz created in the first place.
Which always makes me laugh because we’ve been told on multiple occasions that if they remove LFR, the higher ups would force them to stop developing raids altogether as there isn’t enough participation, but LFR has 85+% of players doing at least one boss a tier.
And if they keep up with this anti-LFR player war they’ve started, they’re going to drive down participation just like they did in WoD when they removed tier gear/trinkets/etc from LFR, and get given the ultimatum yet again, or even outright get told to stop developing raids as they’ve been warned twice.
