Rogue is very gear-reliant, in addition to being squishy.
It’s easier to level as healing specs, no joke.
Your damage will suck, but at least you’ll never die lol.
Also, stealth isn’t as strong as it used to be, plain and simple. Many other classes also have it.
I’d rely on Timewalking and such, never level a rogue alone via questing. That’s where it’s most painful.
WW Monk felt vastly more fun than Rogue did.
It’s reliant on talents to feel playable. Not gear.

It does get fun when rng messes with your mind. even in the good old days of “mop” trees to the SL/DF conversion.

DF was the turning point here imo. When it removed what I deemed “baselines” from outlaw. Over many wows combat then outlaw was usually the advised leveling spec. Some of the sub/sin taken away to be selected spec tree only is what made outlaw tolerable in leveling.
I’m not talking about those levels. “Doing just fine” smells like a boost.
Had to go through your levels to get to these levels.
“Struggle in trivial content” smells like someones bad at the game

Chiming in. The classic feels. A nostalgia trip misplaced in current retail wow.
TLDR: It’s pretty bad/slow/brutal/slog to level prior to 60+ (if that).
Low energy regen. Regen capstones towards the end of the class tree.
Damage increase mid to end of the tree.
Stealth is there. Ok, sure but you won’t be 1 shotting anything unless you’re twinking.
Despite what most of the elitists on the forums will tell you, in my PERSONAL experience levelling with one button rotation on is a joy

Its not much of a slog when youre getting 10 levels an hour easily. More now with turbulent timeways.
Youre getting 2-3 new abilities per dungeon completion between levels 20-40
Glad you are having fun in dungeons with other people helping you kill things. Cute. If I wanted to level my rogue in dungeons with other players with classes that work well I doubt I would be complaining either.
Combat at least keeps those “baselines” I mentioned earlier. DF I tried to make one. TWW then Mid. It just never clicked.
And if poor as hell fresh starting one…stealth leads to pickpoket and then kill it. Pickpocket 3 silver, mob dies…3 silver. Cool, I doubled my money!
Old rogue is not a thrill a minute level either. But pickpocket makes it not so bad.
So youre consciously making things harder on yourself, for reasons? Then complaining about the self imposed difficulty of leveling such.

I think rogue needs changes to function better at low levels so it is enjoyable to play. The class barely works without energy regen etc.
People like you don’t need to have an opinion because you’re not interested in addressing the issue or even discussing it.
Lots of classes suck at low levels because they don’t have their entire kit.
Survival Hunter in particular is weird because you have a ranged ability you cannot even use, Steady Shot, because you’re a melee spec.
People giving their two cents about Rogues, and you’re needless hostile towards them.
Also leveling Rogue in the most painful way (solo) and insisting on it, that’s on you.
