I believe part of the reason is because we WoW players were so rowdy. It’s understandable as WoW toons in their greatness can fill a player with such fervor that they go on a posting fury and cannot be stopped.
I have the feeling I will never get a high trust level. I will mess up somehow. I will just be hanging out on the forum street corner, bumming likes off Snowfox.
I think that only thing that might hold you back would be a suspension or getting flagged. The non-day requirements are pretty paltry. But I know how trigger happy people are with reporting posts they disagree with so who knows lol
Indeed. Well spoken Humanism from you as always, Xoja. Look, let’s keep it on the down low, because if all these Orcs, Elves, and other non-Humans catch wind of what’s going on they may try to put their heads together and rival the Human Females. What we gotta do is simply look out for one another. It is the toonish code as recorded below
…For it is written and presented before all good [Human Female] toons that each shall look out for the other, and any toon that does this shall be graced with goodness, and all toons will witness Teh Law and be subject to it.
Really though, I missed you all. I missed this forum community for real, even the people I’d fight and argue with. Been going through a lot irl and was away from the game, but it’s awesome to be back with all y’all.
I tried playing Guild Wars 2 again… and I just can’t do it lol.
Hopefully nothing too bad! It is good to see you again, especially on a crazy forum day like this. I know a lot of people are down on the forums right now.
I tried to pick up GW2 not too long ago too actually, and same… I couldn’t get back into it lol
The way I see it is the MMO sphere is so immersive that, for me, WoW feels like home, and being in another MMO feels like I am somewhere foreign. Even if it is “okay” to be there and doesn’t necessarily feel bad, it just doesn’t feel like home.
Plus, and silly/dumb though it may be, WoW toons and the world around them just cannot be matched. Even though this game has its issues it is still unmatched in terms of polish, fun, and just an aesthetic that will forever be endearing.
I totally agree. There are only a couple of MMOs that have I have been really interested/invested in similarly to WoW, and both of them were before WoW came out. GW2 was a post-WoW exception but still not as fun for me.
Speaking of which, I can’t wait for Classic! To have the original character models back in their natural environment is going to be awesome. Especially the human females.
Ain’t that the truth! I started in BC so never played Vanilla proper, but BC was close enough to it all. A lotta folks try to blow it off with “Rose colored glasses” and “nostalgia,” and while some of that no doubt comes into play, above it all a lot of the elements of the older iteration of the game I really did enjoy, especially CC’ing in dungeons, brewing poisons, and things like that.
And yes, the older models were far superior. The newer ones have more polygons, like a Rembrandt painting may be more detailed than a ancient Roman fresco, but that fresco to some observers has a certain character that renders it more appealing than the Rembrandt painting. This is the greatness of WoW toons.
Indeed, it is the little things like that that made WoW a fantastic RPG to begin with. Nothing wrong with enjoying it all over again, with new friends this time around.
Always good to appreciate the art of the game, even the old stuff. It doesn’t have to have the detail or be created with up-to-date technology to be majestic. I like the way you think!
But anyway, time to sleep. Good to see you here again, and I’ll let my thread get back on topic now
Reddit is one giant echo chamber, so using that as any kind of example kinda invalidates the point you’re trying to make. It’s not an echo chamber because of its Like/Dislike buttons, either.
