And she has been that way (possessed her own corpse) since W3:TFT. But all along since then she has demonstrated still elf like strength when attacking or being attacked, up until now.
It’s a subtle set up for a new playable class, “Dark Witch”, where “Banshee” is one of the specs, a ranged damage dealer that specializes in death magic.
This will, naturally, be a hero class for 9.0 limited to the Forsaken and the Undead Night Elves, who rejoin the alliance after Sylvi’s departure.
Exactly. Her natural elven strength, coupled with the unnatural strength a powerful undead would possess would put her strength on par with even… or exceeding the strongest person on any battlefield.
Also, while DK’s do use “Death Magic”, we aren’t literally flinging around the essence of Death like the Drustvar Witches or Sylvanas is now. That requires a full-on connection to the Shadowlands/Blighted Lands which is something that currently only they have.
There’s one race that also has this connection, but I doubt we’ll be seeing them anytime soon.
Oh… oh my… I just realized something about Sylvanas’s newly revealed Necromancy.
I don’t think Bolvar has been creating any new Scourge since becoming the new Lich King.
If Sylvanas is able to create new undead… then the only one possible to have that power is Ner’zhul, and I don’t think his soul is in the Helm of Domination any more. I think Ner’zhul’s soul is inside Sylvanas.
Think about it, folks. Sylvanas was dangerous, but never this dangerous.
Ner’zhul’s soul was overpowered and destroyed by Arthas in Rise of the Lich King, and multiple artifact quests(Felo’melorn and Blades of the Fallen Prince off the top of my head) showed that he’s been raising new Death Knights.
Also, this still doesn’t disprove Sylvanas having a connection to the Shadowlands which is THE land of the dead.
Before I forget, the Shadowlands has nothing to do with the void aside from being congruent to it on the Magic Map.
As I stated, it’s literally the essence of Death itself – something very few people, if any at all, are known to use; not least of which is Bwonsamdi himself.
Ner’zhul’s soul merged with Arthas at that time. The moment Arthas put the helm on during WC3, he said, “Now, we are one.” Meaning that he and Zer’zhul were one. Yes, Arthas did overpower Zer’zhul and became the dominant personality as you stated, but I don’t think Zer’zhul’s soul was truly destroyed.
Don’t think it was: There was a quest you could take to go into the spirit realm and see LK and some Val’kyr hanging out
Approaching him has him permastun you and he starts monologing and one of his lines was, “Shamanism has brought you here…I was once a shaman”, which references Ner’zhul
While Arthas became the main personality, Ner’Zhul still lingered, and perhaps still does, but it’s not known in what capacity
And I think it’s safe to say that whatever Sylvanas is using it’s not magic, it’s really hard telling what it is, let alone how to describe it
I’m not really happy with the “It’s just Banshee things” since she long hasn’t able to do the things Banshees can, but it’s certainly out of the magic realm
I’m wondering about that questline from Legion that you brought up. Was that an echo of Zer’zhul in that questline?
I’m also wondering if Arthas managed to trap Zer’zhul’s soul within Frostmourne when he impaled him. If so, that means once Tirion shattered the blade with Ashbringer, then Ner’zhul’s soul was freed and went inside Sylvanas once she killed herself after falling onto the saronite spikes.
