Let's put the "Danuser was a Sylvanas simp" lie to rest

The idea that people feel he needs to be the “face” of the Alliance, much less WoW, shows massive tone-deafness to his character and the faction as well. He can’t drive the narrative, he only reacts and responds. And with the obvious narrative fiat he carries basically limits the story options of any story he’s involved with, and other characters development. We saw how he railroaded the story in BfA.

He’s a great supporting character. Lead character? Utterly terrible.

The sad part is that we’ve seen Blizzard writers go out of their way to tear down this method of storytelling, especially in the Alliance.

Afrasiabi was one of the directors for BfA, as well as Legion and WoD. Legion was better because it had a simple storyline (defeat the Burning Legion) and a mountain of fanservice to hide the flaws it did have.

Kosak was the Cosby suite guy who was a Sylvanas simp (perhaps the only thing he and Afrasiabi disagreed on).

Considering a lot of them were part of the Cosby suite crew, they had interacted with women… but in toxic ways (and got away with it for so long due to their money and status).

Anduin’s not the worst example of that; check out Me’dan and Illidan. Me’dan if you want more Mary Sue. Illidan if you want more fedora.
