Let's prepare ourselves now

SL launch is going to be a disaster of not being able to log in, crowded starting zones, and people cheesing mob tagging just to be obnoxious. You know, just like every other expansion launch.

There. No reason to complain about it now… right?

Ehh. The last few launches haven’t been that bad, honestly.

It’ll be worse than other expansions actually. Both alliance and horde are being funneled into the same zone doing the same quests in the same order instead of being able to choose what zone you do first.

I see forum posts complaining about this, but for the past two expansions, I’ve had 0 problems myself.

EDIT: Besides, seeing a ton of people gathered hours before the expansion launch at the place of the starting quest is insanely fun. And seeing people questing together in the same zones makes the game feel much more alive, certainly more alive than it is now.

It’ll be horrifying, with the masses of people trying to play, the friction of a million million little feetsies upon Oribos and beyond, first the Shadowlands will catch on fire, then the forums will catch on fire, then Blizzard servers will catch on fire and finally I’ll catch on fire…

THE HUMANITY!

We haven’t had a bad expansion launch since WoD, and I think that was just a server capacity thing with all the long queue times. They’ve upgraded it since then.

Legion and BfA were both very smooth. They do increased sharding for the beginning to greatly reduce the overcrowding. It wasn’t just the split zones. If Shadowlands has more people then they can just make more shards. I’m sure it’ll be fine!

Seriously if you hate it that much all you need to do is wait a few days for the herd to thin out. What is wrong with people? It’s the launch of a new expansion, I’d be weirded out if it wasn’t over crowded and dc’s.

Launches have been so fine lately, to complain is silly. It’s like when people complain when they have a long maintenance on Tuesday. It barely happens now.

Both BfA and Legion were mostly smooth (legion had a bit of lag day 3 and bfa had some issues at the start for some servers that were fixed with a maintenance around 1 amish iirc), with sharding I really don’t think we’ll have too many issues and if we do, they’ll be there working on them.

I don’t miss a chance to rag on Blizzard but they’ve really improved this aspect of the game

Wouldn’t really bother me either way, since I avoid launches like the plague. Given a couple days, most expansions are fine.

Don’t forget vendor mounts on quest givers  but I like reporting them lol

There’s always room for more complaining lol

You’re confused.

This isn’t old Blizzard launching an expansion. Besides the opening questline bottleneck of WoD, launch has been really good.

We don’t need to logout, no need for a server reset, Blizzard just turns SL on.

I wouldn’t really call 3+ days of unplayable lag and 8 hour queues that blizzard actually gave us game time for a “bottleneck” lol.

I could see launch would take time to get into the game and lag issues ,then glitches just like the last time.

I know some people had issues, glad I didn’t.

Best to be logged in before it goes live then try to log in after.

I sincerely hope you mean “the last two”, because Warlords was that bad.

Honestly with the whole sharding thing and not that many people playing this game the last few expansions have been really smooth.

There was also a lot of lag issues with BFA launch.

Really only on the larger servers, and even with the lag it was still playable, we made it to like 115 before they took the servers down for maintenance, maybe higher, hard to remember.
