Posting this after a couple days of playing the Dracthyr Augmentation spec. I really enjoy it with the exception of having to deal with cast times. I get that you can use hover strategically to get around that outside the charged attacks but it makes me wish I could get similar gameplay on the enhancement shaman.
Nah, fire mages. They took away our water elemental, but now they can finally give fire the love it deserves - by having a fire elemental! But this time, it’ll give out shields and damage buffs!

Ion said that they will not change existing specs into supports. If they make then - they’ll be new ones

Which is absurd considering enhancement shamans are the OG support spec.

I want a full ranged support spec as well, but melee support spec would be fine too. We have a midrange one.
my tinfoil hat theory is that pallys didn’t get our blessings/seals/different judgements back during our rework because they were reserving them for a planned 4th spec.
But the loophole is…

Even if historically, Enhancement Shaman may have signed up 15 years ago for this type of gameplay, if you’re playing that spec today or in recent years, you’re playing it because you like Shaman, you like playing melee DPS, you like doing big numbers as melee DPS. We wouldn’t want to change that out from under people

I don’t want enhancement shaman to change either but I don’t know if I’m willing to take the word of he-who-shall-not-be-named-and-is-definitely-not-doing-a-bad-job.

Let’s not. It is exactly the opposite that many Enhance want and that’s been either making us tanks again. Something that those many Shaman have neeb very vocal about for years to solem very deaf ears.
Don’t try to gut an already weak spec.

As much as it would fit, I dunno if they’ll make any existing specs a support spec simply because they don’t want to alienate people who are already playing that spec
I would love to get some Shield/Mitigation spec similar to what Scholar and Sage are from Final Fantasy XIV.
It is sort of lame, I started playing a shaman because they are the closest thing to a support spec pre-augmentation with Windfury Totem, Earth Shield, Mana Tide, Ancestral Guidance, Healing Stream Totem, lots of like buffs and benefits to your party. I still plan to play enhance over augmentation as my main but I’m a little salty when Blizzard is like “WOW’S FIRST SUPPORT SPEC” and I look at all the buff totems they removed from the game ages ago to butcher shaman as a support lol.

How about
Ion already addressed this in an interview. They are not changing any current spec to be more support. They’d rather add a new class or a new spec to an existing class.
