HUNDREDS of mounts? Im sorry…I dont want to say ‘aint gonna happen’ but ‘aint gonna happen’. lol.
They wont even get that stupid ‘in combat’ bug fixed or at least give us a toy to get out of combat once an hour for when it happens and keeps me locked down for 30 minutes.
Ion just aint going back thru HUNDREDS of old mounts and making all those animations for each one.
again…dont want to say aint gonna happen, but…
That’s what they said about classic servers too.
dude…i dont CARE what you call it or need to tell yourself to make it better lmao…its flying as we have known it for years. Deal with it.
Needs dragon rider open world PVP, fighter pilot style
That’s what they said about classic servers too.
Im sorry…firing up an EXISTING game again was how hard…exactly?
yeah…not hard at all. there were private servers all over the web, lmao.
NOT the same as literally making animations…MANY animations for HUNDREDS of existing mounts.
Aint…gonna…happen
you heard it here first folks
It’s them just shaking up their pathfinder mentality and designed flying with a sort of purpose that will have you flying in a more proper way later on once you progress it. I’m just not sure how it’ll feel with the monotony of it and not able to use other ‘flying’ mounts on that place. I like that it has a reason and rhyme to it and the idea is cool for wow to shake up flying for the immersion but I feel like the thi ngs knocking me from the sky will be annoying.
My guess is ‘dragon riding’ is something of an idea that if well received, they’ll use for other areas etc and to encompass more mounts. Or could be just a flavor thing for said expansion but with the work they put in, I don’t see it going away.
Actually it was really hard they lost a lot of it and then of course They had to reshape it in order to fit the current model of today’s standards.
dude…not gonna waste MY time with you here…NO…it wasnt that big a deal to do what hundreds of private servers were already doing
DONE on this point.
Buddy they are just trying to dress up the mega flying grind to hopefully make it more fun for players while keeping the redonk grind time
Bliz has a fixed minimum grind time in mind for each season, so they apparently reduced some system grinds elsewhere and are making it up here
This crap is so ridiculously forced that it is comical how far bliz devs will go to try to retain grinds despite overwhelming feedback that grinds are too long, and far more so for alts
Supposedly they are cutting grinds for alts but time will tell

has anyone figured out if this is PER character or account wide? the dragon progression I mean
we paid cash money for FLYING mounts that are grounded for an entire expansion. hardly ‘anything’ lmao.
and here you are…complaining about complaining literally being a hypocrite lol
You also agreed to Blizzards terms and EULA which states “online game play may change over time” meaning you paid for flying today tomorrow it might be gone. If you don’t like it don’t pay for and enter agreements you only expect one side to hold up.
It’s their game they are under no agreement to provide you with anything. If you don’t like it you can pound sand and stop paying them.
Now, if you’d like to make suggestions that’s fine. We all make suggestions but don’t do it in the self righteous 35 paragraph GD post style demanding stuff.
I’m betting that Dragonriding is a prototype that will eventually come to replace “regular” flying altogether. So you’ll be able to use your old flying mounts again eventually, but not with the “swimming in air” method of flight.
HUNDREDS of mounts? Im sorry…I dont want to say ‘aint gonna happen’ but ‘aint gonna happen’.
I didn’t say I see them doing all of the mount animations, lol. That would take like 25,000 man hours.
They’ll probably find a way to make it work without looking jank.
No, I haven’t.
Obviously GW2 is more complex than Spyro, but my half joking point was that barrel rolls for speed and such isn’t a new idea. Other than a few flourishes though, it’s not like anyone has a copyright on physics.
NOT the same as literally making animations…MANY animations for HUNDREDS of existing mounts.
Like 3 animations-- most mounts have a glide/hover and fly_fwd already --for mounts which share a pool of 20something skeletons.
Flying horses could be an issue, but they could just use particle effects on the hooves for speed boosts given the lack of wings. Likewise for the mechanical vehicle mounts.
I doubt this, but they have said they want to make the mechanic global as an option later on.
So I hope it’s a success, if it’s done right it can be really fun.

We do not know (at least from what I’ve seen). There is so much we do not know at this point about this new system that it’s actually a little off-putting.
The system may be the new pathfinder in disguise with an unlock at the end and work out great. It could be a total disaster requiring another ripcord event. We just don’t know.
Personally, I am a bit nervous as it sounds too close to a vehicle system or Joust (which I loathed) but I admit I don’t know yet. As it’s a year (or more) away though, hopefully Blizzard will clarify some things.

the way they’ve worded it seems like dragon riding will be the only way to fly at the start but it’ll eventually open up to conventional flying like with pathfinder or something
I’m a druid and flight form is my prime I really don’t even use mounts to be honest so it’ll be pretty underwhelming going in stormhawk mode flapping on the ground.
What the bullocks!?
I can imagine players getting bored of the personal flying trick-tastic dragon mount after a while? I think I get bored myself and we have very personal feelings towards our mounts? We also like to change it up. So imagine like, a expansions like 2 years long right?
This is a very good point.
Does anyone want to actually play a flight simulator game for the entire expansion? It was already said somewhere (I need to keep records of these quotes by devs) that you cant control the dragon’s destination and landing the same way you can for normal flight, so just getting from A to B to grab that herb or mob…seems like it might be nowhere near as easy as it is now.
If it was purely a matter of the mount having extra flight moves (say like the Sky Golem and how it spins now and then) then it wouldnt be an issue. But they have clearly said this dragon flying has to be learned so far as how to control it and use it.
The notion of being required to learn to fly for an expansion is fine in theory but in practise it may be a lot more restrictive than people realise.
