This seems like more work than the existing system.
Run a DFC/Motherlode of your current key level and use the end of dungeon reroll feature. Keep your key at the same level and get a different dungeon.
This seems much easier than lowering your key to reroll which then requires you to run your key again to get to the same level you already had it at.
