Yeah I don’t see why not. Blizzard has pulled all kinds of bs out of their backside to explain anything they wanted… anything is possible, and they show us that all the time whenever they want.
if murloc dhs are a thing then everyone should be able to become one
Void and Light do not mix. You cannot be infused with Void and then be bathed in Light to make it a part of you. It’s physically impossible in this universe. There are questlines that even explain this.
Blizzard is sticking very closely to the cosmology of you haven’t noticed.
They can be priests… Or better yet: priests even exist with the 3 specs they have at all, regardless of what void elves can be.
Lore wise they are only Shadow Priests. Gameplay mechanics are not lore. And using Light as a priest is also not the same as being bathed in it and making it a part of you like Paladins.
I can tell that you care nothing for the lore. So I feel this will only go in circles, because there’s much you don’t understand or care about concerning the storylines. That’s okay. But I will end our conversation here, because I don’t want to keep explaining these things that you aren’t really interested in anyway. Have a good night!
I can make a void elf priest, and make him holy spec. But not a void elf paladin.
I already answered this above. Goodnight.
I think there is room to add classes to races but I disagree with OP all classes for all races, like you point a good example.
My desire to expand some classes where they make sense is one thing I think all classes for all races is another concept though.
priest=/=paladin
I was already suspecting this to be a Sunday post, now it’s all but confirmed. Time to get out the bingo boards and shot glasses/kegs.
Clearly it’s MY point that is being missed here. It’s being argued that not all things are possible, and shouldn’t be, and allowing any race to be any class would ruin the culture of the races. The example being used is void elf paladins should never be a thing, and at the same time someone can make a void elf priest, and have that void elf priest be holy spec…
How is this not a huge contradiction of even your own arguement?
There are race/class combos that could happen, but there are cultural differences that should also be considered.
Human druid for example, there is nothing physically stopping them from being druids. It’s purely cultural. Night elf paladin is another class combo which goes against the Night elf culture.
Because of the curse, worgen paladin also can’t happen. No the curse of the flesh is not the same as the worgen curse.
Reposting this before I crawl into bed since you blatantly ignored it. I also bolded it. And I was right about the second portion, as you’ve clearly shown.
Priests and paladins are two very different classes. Much like the demon hunter, a paladins entire being is filled with the light. A priest invokes the light and shadow evenly, but neither completely consume their being.
You’re separating your original point from the one you just made, namely player controlled race cultures from gameplay mechanics…
I’m ok with letting the specific case drop, I never wanted to press it so much anyway. I just seriously don’t see how your point was backed up.
Culturally speaking, I shouldn’t be able to play as a holy spec void elf priest, just like a night elf shouldn’t be able to play as a paladin (even though Blizz made one in the legion paladin class hall), but I can.
The difference between playable race attributes is negligible when considering the size and power of most bosses. When it comes to fighting a Fel Reaver both gnomes and tuarens are scraping the paint off its grieved boots.
All I heard was dranei warlocks.
Yes but no but maybe I want that? Hmm.
I mean yeah, that’s true. But you kinda also have to consider the outrageously sized bosses in this game that aren’t actually as big as their game models. They’re just made huge because they’re a raid boss and players need to be able to see them during the battle or something.
“lore matters” ok no more male druids then
Edit: it may of been the other way round actually with only men being druids
Yeah thanks for just throwing out some accusations before ducking out by the way, always an upstanding thing to do. And the accusations aren’t even true. Maybe I am a little jaded sometimes by the fact that half the time Blizz themselves don’t seem to care about their own lore as you claim they do, as evidenced by the fact that they in fact do come up with any explanation they want to make anything they want happen. So after all the crap they pull I say things like “just let everyone be everything” because I want to have cool race/class combos like I see the npcs having.
So is a gnome paladin and we don’t have those yet.
Took many years to get a human hunter and that didn’t even make sense that we couldn’t from the very start. Their excuses for limitation isn’t based on anything other than limiting.
