When you go to the race select screen, they’re blood elves. But the class is only available to Elves, both Kaldorei and Sin’dorei.
Ren’dorei and Shal’dorei cannot be Demon Hunters, despite being Elves as well.
What people are asking for is fine, let the Dracthyr be Evokers, let that be their ‘Flagship’ class, like Warriors and Shamans are for Orcs, Paladins and Mages for Humans, Druids and Hunters for Tauren and Kaldorei, but also let them have access to other classes.
By all means, let the Evokers have the cool stuff, but every single member of the race being just … hopped up Mages with chronic Mary Sue syndrome is just depressing, and has killed a lot of folks desire to come back and play, and after the past few years of Blizzard’s snafus, and the scandals, you’d think Blizzard would be going hammer and tongs to not drive potential/returning players away.
I have very little interest in the new class, I’ll mess around with it, but I’m going to continue to play my priest and my druid, they are the class fantasy I identify with the most, and I enjoy the play styles.
I am extremely disappointed that I can’t play with new customization options or the new race as either class, and beyond that if I want to interact with the new race, which has some of the coolest customization options we’ve seen in the game yet, I can only play the new class.
It really bothered me the way Ion phrased it “you can really make this character an expression of yourself” essentially, but what if I want to make my existing characters expressions of myself? What if evoker isn’t my expression?
All races should have this level of customization, and at a time where a noticeable portion of the wow population wants to see less restrictions and more options, this feels really disconnected.
I just saw this over on Facebook and I’d love the right version to be a body option as well.
Looks like something that could be modeled using the male worgen/stoneborn as a base.
Having two body types would be a great option to have. Normally we’ve got male and female, but being dragons the physiques could be relabeled to something like lithe and muscular and allowed for any to choose from.
I’m fine with Evoker being race locked. In fact I have always been for race specific classes with the only problem being factions. Now that we have xfaction grouping, let the dark rangers, priestess’ of elune, and rangari run free!
Ahem, yes it’s very silly Dracthyr can’t be something like a warrior or a mage. I wonder if it has something to do with modeling and the armor situation on their model.
Works pretty well for druid.
It’s also what I’d like to see for necromancer but both dps being caster, one focused on a lich form with frost and death spells, and the other your more typical minion master.
The lack of the earth/black dragon tank spec is weird.
I would have liked to have seen a Lich caster spec for DK’s. That would have been neat! It would have probably been too much of a Shadow priest / Frost mage cross over though, which I am ok with
If they were actually out to make evoker different they would have made bronze dps with sands, tornados, and time magic. Then fire/black for tanks and frost/green for heals. But nope.
So would these other classes be Visage form only? Cause if so you basically playing a male elf or female human with some horns since they will have armor on you couldn’t see all their other features like scales.
